Score 1 to trip advisor for this place. Came highly recommended but you would never just stumble across this place. It is slightly out of town - walkable though - and in what might be seen as an edgy neighbourhood. But wow what a spot. Book in advance - the place was rammed with locals. Food is excellent and more than plentiful ( if you order the paella for one bring your game face!) . Choices are all basque based as the name suggests and service was excellent for us. If you are in town do not miss this place.

We spent the night at inter hotel on the edge of Reims, middle of nowhere, thus. Restaurant closed. Google maps revealed L'Espelette, 6 minutes away, also the middle of nowhere...fantastic. Packed to the rafters, we had the luck to get the last remaining table that wasn't reserved! Tapas, so bright red Spanish decor, chilies hanging everywhere, people thrilling to the food, the service, the ambiance, the Spanish-style drinks, in short, a must! Highly recommended.

Restaurant et traiteur Franco-Espagnol, nous proposons le midi des menus et le soir une carte de tapas, pinchos, cassolettes... au saveurs françaises et espagnoles dans une ambiance conviviale et détendu.
We had a spontaneous dinner here and were immediately greeted by who we believe is the owner. Our French is not very good but we managed to communicate what our dietary requirements were and let him help us put together a selection of tapas to try. The food was really good and much better than at other tapas restaurants we have been to. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening!
