Our specialty is steaks Makes 28 days of ripening . Besides a wide variety of South American and European wines
I visited this restaurant for the first time, enjoying a late lunch with my wife. The restaurant is a combination of adjacent steakhouse and sushi restaurants. Small and cozy, the appearance is modern with a pleasant atmosphere. The food is delcious and the service excellent. Prices are very reasonable. The strawberry mojitos were superb, not too sweet. This restaurant is a welcome addition in this small city, and I look forward to returning. Well done !

Among the best restaurants in San Rafael, Matices personnel is always welcoming. Wether you want to have a full meal or order the "bocas" aka tapas, you will find most of the menu is delicious. Price -quality relation and portion size is better than most restaurants in CR. very recommended for casual lunch or dinner.
We hope to become the best Peruvian restaurant in all of Costa Rica. Our chef has 30 plus years experience and will make your visit completely worthwhile.
This small restaurant is on the way to my vet. Probably I pass by dozens of times, today I decided to stop and give it a try. What a nice surprise, the place is small but neat and the staff very friendly. I had to order my food to go and when I got home the experience was great. I tried Peruvian food in Lima and abroad and all the flavors are on their dishes. We had Arroz Chaufa beef and chicken (one of each) as well the typical ceviche. Everything was delicious, fresh and authentic, I fully recommend this restaurant. My only advice...put some ginger on the Chaufa, it will make all flavors shine even more. As final note, Pasión Peru is a clear example that you do not have to over price food to deliver quality, their prices are affordable and their quality is excellent.

We found this restaurant quite by accident, while looking for a different one, and decided to try it for a Sunday lunch. It's housed in a rustic building with charm, in a beautiful rural area, but very close to both San Jose and Heredia. The food was outstanding. The quality and flavor of the meat dishes we ordered were an amazing surprise, as were the potatoes on the side. We topped it with a great bottle of Spanish wine, and the chef prepared a wonderful crepe with fruit for dessert for us. Though slightly more expensive than the average Costa Rican restaurant, the portions are so large that you may end up taking some home for a second meal, hence our estimation that there is value for the money. We would not hesitate to recommend Casa Azul, and definitely plan to be back.
Positives: Fantastic, creative, colorful asian fusion food! Love the Thai Tom Yum soup with shrimp and Vietnamese shrimp and rice dish. Great ambiance music at good level for talking. Good decor, lighting and variety of food and drink. Negatives: The white sangria was good but was filled with ice that completely watered down the drink. I would recommend serving it cold with no ice. As the customer drinks it, bring over a little bowl of ice the customer can add as needed. The staff is nice but forgetful and not good at taking the initiative. For example: they forgot about the water, never checked to see how our food was or to ask if we wanted dessert or another round a drinks. Starting at 10:30pm when the place cleared out, they seemed more interested in cleaning than attending to the customers since the rush was over. The staff brought over the cheesecake dessert without utensils or a candle despite I mentioned it was her birthday "La Cumpleañera" a few times that night. It would have been a nice gesture for them to bring over a complimentary dessert with a candle since we were there enjoying ourselves. I had to flag down the waitress to ask if they had any desserts and then when she brought it over ask her if they had a candle. Those are the little detailed that they could work on but, I'll definitely be back because of the food, ambiance and music.

A great Spanish restaurant located in San Pedro de Barba. This is a 30 to 40 minute drive from San Jose. You will need to have a car to get there. I recommend the 1st Sunday of the month since they have a show along with your meal at 1:30 p.m. There speciality is PAELLA a very typical Spanish rice dish. It takes at least 45 minutes to prepare so order a number of great tapas to enjoy while you are waiting. Did I mention the Sangria is great along with a Creme Burlee for desert. You will definitely need a reservation or you will be seated in rooms totally isolated from the show and the ambiance. The owner is a major part of the show and goes around offering clients a drink from a leather wine pouch which never seems to empty.

I always stop at Lola's on my way back from the Caribbean. It's easy off/on parking if you're heading back toward San José. I also like comida tÃpica, traditional Costa Rican food.On my last visit I tried the Sopa Azteca--a tomato soup with cheese, avocado, and tortilla pieces. this was touted as Lola's special recipe and it was very very good. I will have sopa azteca at Lola's again.

Welcome to Riverside, your stop for amazing brick oven pizzas, craft beer, select wines and farm-to-table cuisine. Our pizzas are hand tossed with dough that has been fermented for at least 48 hours, giving them a signature flavor and superior quality. Al
Architecturally interesting place. Has the rustic feel of a converted barn with lots of wood and stone - although lighting could be improved as we all needed flashlights to read the menu.Extensive menu features pizzas (too many to count), wings, burgers and more. Portions are substantial (be prepared to take home leftovers). Service was efficient and professional. Prices are reasonable.
