The Hotel del Oso's restaurant offers top-quality cuisine based on the freshest seasonal produce and traditional Cantabrian dishes such as its celebrated cocido lebaniego, a local stew whose core ingredients are pork, beef, chickpeas and spring greens, fo
I stayed in the hotel for a week and dined at the restaurant twice. The food was universally excellent, with every member of our group being entirely satisfied with their choices. Portions are super generous- this seems to be a theme of restaurants in this area. Take your time, enjoy the mountain cuisine and use the energy to hike higher and further the next day.

Far better prices and menu than Parador - we booked the Parador expecting the price but the food choice was very poor - this was a lot better so all ratings are vs the Parador.

Totally enjoyed meal served before walking trail along river gorge. Had a real "family feel" with home-made soup, salad, wine, bread, dessert... Arranged for group lunch the night before by phone... Freshness demonstrated by local gardener who happened to arrive with heads of fresh lettuce as we were ending meal. Given that this is a little off the beaten path the prices and available menu was wonderful.

We visited after taking a ride on the cable car at Fuente De. The restaurant was very inviting and we had a hearty and delicious meal. Service was warm and fantastic. We were even offered a complimentary local liqueur at the end of the meal. Highly recommended for a local and heartwarming meal!

Breakfast as good as anywhere on our 2 week trip in the Picos and better than most. The evening meal I had was delicious, the local venison stew. It is a family run business and the wife holds certificates in local cooking as displayed in the restaurant. Would recommend this restaurant without a doubt. We enjoyed our 2 nights here. The first night we were tired after a hard day in the Cares Gorge followed by the drive here so we just ate our own cold food outside on a restaurant table which was offered to us to use.

Best Wine Bar food near Sant Joan Despi, Province of Barcelona, Spain
Good simple menu. Highly recommend the salad and anything with hand cut chips. House wine is a safe bet. On the Friday night that we were there, there seemed to be a ladies night out happening outdoors (think best dresses) and a men's band / bagpipe night in the interior (old blokes singing and beating a drum). Very friendly and good fun.

There are only two restaurants in Posada de Valdeon that are open in the evening. One was closed while I was there, but the menu in the window had nothing but meat dishes. The other restaurant was this one. This place is nothing to write home about, but they were willing to work with me as a vegetarian. Three course meal with a bottle of wine. First course was vegetable soup one night and salad the next, second course was omelet with mushrooms. That was it, only option (although that is not even on the menu, they made it special for me). Desert was either a flan or an apple. I give them credit for working with me, and keeping me from starving for two days. At least the meal is cheap, if you pay cash it is like 20 euros for two people. If you are a vegan, you are screwed in this town. Buy something from the store during the day, and eat it in your room at night.

The picture on TripAdvisor looks like pension Begoña. If that is correct I can tell you that you can have a good, fast (in half an hour we were outside)11 euro three course dinner incl. wine excluding service at Begoña. The Menu to choose from is limited but tastfull. House wine is nice. The owner is English so no problem if you can not understand the waitress.

The food was very tasty, but the portion of the mushroom lasagna is rather small. Without reservation or arriving late will bring disappointment of having a table. Biggest problem was the prices on menu were without VAT! (never had this issue in Spain before)
