Things to do in Ponce
We read about El Tablado on Trip Advisor an decided to head to La Guanchavto check it out. We had a little trouble finding it because you really need to know Kiosk 19. While advertised as a ' sports bar,' it's not your typical sports bar. But since we weren't going to watch games, we didn't care. The owner graciously found us a table for 4 and proceeded to be super-attentive. And when he couldn't be, he sent Stephanie. They were both terrific, as was the food. The chicken wings, in particular, are extraordinary along with the fried cheese. We've been in Ponce for almost a week and we've been to El Tablado twice. If we weren't going home in day, we would go back again!

Tango is by far the best kiosk at La Guancha Boardwalk and Park in Ponce The seafood and the drinks are delicious. Friendly and diligent staff. The owner comes from time to time to chat with his clients. The kiosk has a beautiful appearence and looks clean. Plenty of seats and tables. It can be busy on weekends making the wait longer. Love their house sangria and turnovers. Family friendly.
El Rastro opened very recently (a week and a half ago). The setting is quaint and warm, located close to the historic city center. The food is spectacular. All fresh ingredients, mostly organic produces, some from the owners' own garden. The bread and the brioche come from the next door bakery, the maple syrup is homemade and has a twist of ginger which enriches the experience. You can order from the menu or choose one of the day's specials. Portions are copious and delicious. The staff was very pleasant. The owners, Lucecita and Maria, were very attentive and went out of their way to accommodate us (we were a group of 13 showing up at 2pm for a Sunday brunch - they normally close for a couple of hours at 3pm). Although the restaurant just opened and we were expecting a few glitches, the food was served in less than 15 minutes and had not been precooked. It was fresh off the stove. There is a very well stacked bar which serves amazing cocktails and the bartender knows a thing or two about making good drinks. This is THE place to try if you're in Ponce and probably worth driving across the island just to try.
La Tertulia is a party-goers playground featuring video, sound upbeat 80's and 90's rock music. The main bar and the Jack Daniel's walk-up bar with friendly bartenders pouring drinks, is a hub of energy where the party never stops. La Tertulia feature uni

Carla and I had a few minutes for lunch. Across the street from the Plaza Degetau (center city of Ponce) is a Mexican restaurant. Lunch in PR is a process. Little bit of a wait before we got the bartender's attention.I ordered the fish tacos. I cannot remember what Carla order but I do remembered that we ordered a second round of those tacos. The meal was very inexpensive. We will be going back.
