We went to El Andariego three times for breakfast while we were in Oaxaca for a week-long stay. In addition to a wonderful breakfast menu, delicious bread, tasty coffee, and outstanding service, El Andariego opens at 7:30 AM! That was perfect for us because we are a couple of "madrugadores." We highly recommend El Andariego for breakfast.

This restaurant is located near the One Hotel, but more importantly it has wonderful food at hard to believe prices. We did not have the buffet, although its price nearly had us. Instead we had the traditional dish of Tlayudas that was so filling we didn't need to have dinner. Tony our waiter speaks excellent English and explains each dish for you. They also provided a pitcher of a homemade drink and dessert at no cost! Overall a great place to have lunch!

The best seafood restaurant in the city! With the freshest fish and seafood. More than 25 years of experience support us and our quality and taste distinguish us from the competition
First off, it closes at 7pm, so don't plan on a late dinner here. Shrimp were cooked properly, but were not deveined. I had the shrimp wrapped in bacon, while my wife had the breaded fried shrimp. The shrimp were fresh and had a good flavor. As I recall, the plate came with rice and a nice fresh salad. There was a nice beer selection. They have a seafood buffet on the weekends.

From gorgeous dining areas to a waiter with 20 years Chicago experience to the most comfortable chairs in a Oaxacan restaurant--all side benefits to the essentials: an authentically Oaxacan (mostly Mixtec) menu with perfectly prepared dishes. First, a complementary mexcal cocktail (rimmed with chile, doused with pineapple and celery). Next, tamal de maiz (corn tamal) sweet and fresh served with a salsa prepared at table in a molcajete (chile de agua, salt, chapulines, ajo, tomatillo, cebolla). Next, two different soups, both superb. My sopa azteca was the second-best of my life.(The best? One in Austin tied with one in San Miguel.) Next, trucha serrana (trout) that we were warned had tiny bones. No kidding. Great flavor and great irritation trying to get rid of the splinters. I had asadero mole con lengua (beef tongue). I can't praise it enough--succulent and with depth of flavor. Our salsa provided the perfect boost to the mole. Desert? A piece of corn bread. (Not Savannah style, Mexican style with moist corn flavor, like a closing parenthesis that opened with the tamal de mais.) Go for the Mexican cabernet. (The copa is reasonably price; I considered the bottle prices a little elevated.)

Nice spanish restaurant with all the trimmings (chorizo, fabada, jabugo, cheese), good beers and mezcal. Was pleasantly surprised with their Thanksgiving dinner. Very succulent turkey, etc. The terrace is great, good music, young crowd. Service is slow but so it is almost everywhere in Oaxaca

Leave room for desserts. Thanks for your visit, we hope to see you soon

Wow. What a great evening we had here. We were hosted by a caring and super good organized waitress-manager. The vegetarian options were just perfect. A pizza, a pasta, some pieces of tomato bruschetta. And a lovely choice of Middle and South American red wines. Would love to return here once!

When you get out of a city center on a day trip, you don't often expect much, but El Milenario delivered! Clean, excellent service, and a very varied menu with plenty of options for vegetarians. It's right across from the tree in Tulle which makes it that much more convenient. A good spot to slot into your itinerary!
