We were not expecting such delicious tapas in Mechelen, but the restaurant deserves its high rating. The fish stew- "Pescado a la Vizcaina" hit the spot, and everything else was good too. The calamari were as they should be, the chorizo was good and generous, and the patatas bravas were served with sauce on the side, since I'm no fan of tomato sauce. The albondigas were tasty too. We could not fault this relaxed, inexpensive and authentic tapas bar.

Because this restaurant is closed in the early part of the week, I have not visited with business, despite 18 months in Mechelen; they could certainly make more business trade by opening on a Wednesday. The atmosphere is nice and service good. You order at the bar by looking at the dishes. Nice to take a number of tapas tastes - but the food itself is decent, but not spectacular. Many of the dishes are sauce based, so as soon as you have 2 or 3 on your plate, the sauces all run into one another and you get a merged taste, which cannot be what the chef intended.

Si! Tapas! is such a great authentic Spanish / Portuguese restaurant in the center for Mechelen. My boyfriend and I went there for the lunch menu and the food is excellent and the prices are really affordable ... honestly, we canât recommend more - itâs great! The owner / chef is very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return! Excellent addition to Mechelen!
