We were staying in Las Lomas and discovered this small restaurant close to our apartment. As others have said the menu has a limited choice, but this is because everything they serve is excellent. I had the steak which was large and very tasty. The wine is good as well.

Old style village restaurant & bar. Aluminium tables with paper covers and old cutlery. The caldero is excellent and served in a traditional style with the fish served separate and still on the bone. Other dishes we ordered were average and served only warm. We would go back but this place is not for special occasions only lunch or evening snacks. No wine list was offered or seen.
desayuna tranquilamente, o comer su menú del dÃa muy variada, compuesto por dos platos, postre, bebida, pan y café. Y camareros simpaticos. Recomendo para todos.

Café Mayor offers a huge variety of "tapas" and modern dishes with low prices. A caring atmosphere when you can enjoy a very attractive gastronomic variety. Spanish typical "tapas" and haute cuisine are fused.
Good place to stop for a coffee and meet friends, really busy on market days.Is one of three cafes in the town owned by the same family who always make you welcome whichever cafe you visit.

We love this restaurant having dined here many many times. It is always very consistent and offers tremendous food and service. The extremely fresh seafood and beautiful steaks are the big features here and we always try to have both! Good wine list also. Very highly recommended!Sorry for the delay in our response , we had technical problems. We appreciate your comments and your visits to our restaurant. We remain committed to improving every day and views like yours help us . See you soon.

The bodega looks like it had never changed in many years, great character both in the decor and the owner who is an ex professional football player.Typical tapas available as well as a large selection of wines and spirits. You can even get a good house wine from the barrel for about 1.60 a litre.Certainly be back again.

Tipical spanish restaurant Elaborated tapas
We visited this restaurant several times during our few days in Cartagena. Welcomed by the staff who speaks some English and are really helpful! Between my broken Spanish and their English we managed to communicate well!!Firstly, the tapas selection is good...some interesting mixtures but try them, they were very tasty and donât be afraid to ask what they are! On our second visit the waiter recognised us and we were made to feel very welcome. This restaurant is primarily used by the Spanish and I can see why. Everything from the tapas to full 3 course dinner was delicious. But the outstanding dish for me was the prawns plancha (skillet). Sizzling hot king prawns in a garlic olive oil topped with alioli style sauce! Extremely reasonable too ..... approx a dozen large king prawns for less than â¬10!!! Hubby had the steak and said it was the best steak he had tasted outside of Scotland!! This restaurant is about a 30 second walk from The Sercotel Alfonso Hotel where we stayed - hence the reason for our repeated visits as we were in Spain during one of the worst storms (gota fria) they had had in 100 years, which explains why we didnât want to walk too far in the rain!We will definitely return here next time we visit Cartagena...only hope the weather is better!!

My wife and I have been visting this restaurant for over 6 years, it is hidden away down one of the side streets which runs down from the main shopping area. Not the cheapest for a 3 course meal but the quality is good.We have had Tapas, Lunch and Evening meals here and never been disappointed, the owners and staff are always helpful which is important when you speak as little spanish as I do (I'm trying to learn more), they serve food to suit all tastes be it Salads, Fillet Steak or Fish dishes. We have never had a bad meal here, we have on one occasion ended up with something unexpected (down to my poor spanish) but even then it was very good.
