Find out what Spanish restaurants to try in Jaca. Jaca (in Aragonese: Chaca or Xaca) is a city of northeastern Spain in the province of Huesca, located near the Pyrenees and the border with France. Jaca is an ancient fort on the Aragón River, situated at the crossing of two great early medieval routes, one from Pau to Zaragoza. Jaca was the city out of which the County and Kingdom of Aragon developed. It was the capital of Aragon until 1097 and also the capital of Jacetania.

The owner of the B&B where we stayed sent us to La Cadiera with very specific instructions. 1. We MUST eat in the bar side, not the restaurant side so that we could sit at one of the tables that fold down from the wall. One sits in a bench and the table is at the side. 2. We must order Vino Claro con Sidra (wine with cider). Sounds strange, but it was great and refreshing. 3. Order Ensalada Caxico, Salmorrejos, Ajoarriero, and Pastel Chaques for posture. We ordered one plate of each and shared. Soooo delicious! Loved the experience of new foods and the informality of the bar versus a dining room. La Cadiera is located not far from the Cathedral and is easy to find.

Well, if there's something like a nurturing nest for gastronomy, that is this place, the staff knows very well what they offer, they care for details whilst not forgetting what really matters, a gastronomic experience. It is certainly worth a visit. This establishment focuses on the dish and the service primarily, which are the strongest foundations for a successful restaurant. They do care.

Fabulous presentation and flavour. Lovely atmosphere. Saltiness of the tomato mozzarella salad with anchovies and capers perfect. Patatas Bravas creamy and spicy. A great place to stop.

Apparently owned by the tapas bar next door and using the same kitchen, this is the quieter "sit down" place to enjoy some great tapas and nice wines. They have medium and large portions of the tapas and have some other full dish's too, we had 5 medium ones to share and were stuffed. 2 or 3 glasses of wine and it all came to about 40 euros, probably not so cheap as next door but good value, and the octopus was exceptional.

Cerrado por vacaciones desde el 16 de Octubre hasta el 4 de Noviembre.
Dinner here was the best of our holiday! We ordered the set menu and when the starter arrived it was huge and I couldn't finish it. The waitress mistakenly thought it was because I didn't like it, so before we had the main course she brought me another starter which I made my husband eat because I was almost full. The food was fabulous - all for about 15 euros each including wine and the were staff really friendly and attentive. It opens about 8pm and by 8.30 it was absolutely packed, with people outside queuing for a table. Very well worth a visit.

We ended up having dinner at La Fragua few days ago and it resulted in a great noteworthy experience. The restaurant is decorated in dark woods, somehow rustic, but with a significant touch of elegance. We were given a table near the heating system, which was pretty comfortable. The menu is reasonably large and well selected. You have choices of different sea and land products, based on traditional cuisine. We were given as appetizers a couple of croquettes and crab tartlets. We ordered garlic soup, grilled vegetables, grilled octopus and sirloin. The service was excellent, prompt, polite and respectful. And food was astounding, tasty but not strong soup, perfectly grilled vegetables, a nice octopus dish (if I could say a but, it would be here, this dish gets cold quite quickly and it is a shame, as it should remain warmer for longer, maybe placing it in clay?), and the sirloin at the correct cooking point. As dessert, we had a cheesecake (homemade, of course), different and savory. It wasn't cheap (35 EUR per person) but it will be difficult to forget. If we happen to go by Jaca in the future I know where to go straightforward.Very much recommended!

Great food, great ambiance, delicious mountain kind of food. Very impressed by the Chuleton de vaca rubia, some sort of blond cow steak. Home made desserts are to die for. We will be back...too bad is too far from Miami.

Very impressed. Place looks so bright and clean, the kitchen is completely visible which is so reassuring. The owners are very friendly and keen to make customers feel at ease. The food is delicious, cooked with the best ingredients and I think always with olive oil. They even have a vegetarian menu which is great news because sometimes even a meat eater like myself needs a break from meat. It opens earlier than most Jaca restaurants and they have wifi as well. The price is well below what might be expected. Saludos
