La Cura is a great little funky seafood place in Hermosillo. The decor is way out on the funky side - there are skulls and skeletons all over the place. However, the funkiness only adds to the experience. There is a covered patio that looks like it'd be nice for the cooler months, but since it was +100F this June lunchtime we elected to eat inside. The food. Wow. Just Wow. The plates aren't fancy, but they're very, very tasty and are absolutely priced right. You have to try the Tostado Sahuaro (get it "picante" if you like hot) - it is amazing (shrimp, avocados, and more in an incredibly complex dark broth sauce). Among the table we had a variety of fish/seafood tacos and the filet - all were outstanding. The service was good, attentive without being overbearing. The food comes out fast, and if you want more your seconds will come out quickly too (at least for us it did at the early beginnings of the lunch rush - don't know about dinner time). This is a place you'd drive by without knowing about it, but don't make that mistake. You won't be sorry for stopping.
This is the only place in Hermosillo where you get a very complete menu of different cold meats. Most importantly, "fresh"cold meats. They have a great selection of these.I've been there before to buy cold meats "to go" but haven't dine here until this weekend. The attention is very good, they have recommendations for you and a good sevice. We ordered the patatas bravas which I liked because they felt homemade and not some gourmet version of it. Then, had two bocadillos (sandwiches). El andaluz and the cule. Both were super good. The bread was to die for, and so the cold meats.
We opened our doors in 1983, featuring the famous pizzas and succulent dishes to the unique style of the villa. Thanks for joining us these 28 years. We work every day to bring you the best service.
We were the only diners at La Guitarra. The first problem was that the only red wine available by the glass was Merlot, which we do not care for. We settled for one beer and one water. Not an auspicious beginning. We ordered a Caesar salad, which was quite good. The next course was supposed to be Pasta Amatriciana. It was nothing like amatriciana. It was miniature penne with an oily sauce with loads of dried marjoram or oregano and about 6 capers. No tomato sauce, no bacon or pancetta. I sent it back. My husband's veal scallopini was actually thin sliced not-so-tender beef with a salty, lemony sauce. Just OK. The waiter apologized and said he had only been working there for 2 weeks and knew what real Arrabiata should be from a job at another Italian restaurant. Fortunately we were not charged for the Pasta or salad. I wished him well in the future.

My favorite dish in this cenaduria, are the tostadas. The tortilla doesn't seem fried, I dont know if they baked it, but I loved the crunchy texture without too many grease in your hands. The salsa its pretty good(and not spicy), but I dont like that they charge for an extra salsa, giving that the one they gave you, its half of a cup or less. There is also a super spicy salsa at no cost in every table. But for being a nice place, with ac and comfy chairs, maybe its worth it.The chimichang its very good too!I order once a pozole, and didn't like it.Service is fast, drinks are too sugary.
