Cafe Capistrano is one of our go-to spots for a quick and delicious lunch. Chef Arturo grew up on the Mayan Peninsula, and his menu and flavor profile pay homage to his roots. One thing you must try is the Pumpkin Seed Dip with tortilla chips. A fantastic departure from traditional Mexican salsa, the dip is based on a Half Moon Bay staple...pumpkins. I'm not usually a fan of pumpkin, but Arturo has really nailed it with this dip. Add a few dashes of their house made Habanero hot sauce, and it will definitely wake up your palette. We've never had a bad meal here. The only reason this isn't a five-star review is the interior is getting a little tired. That said, you won't notice once you start eating.

I was taken to this place for my birthday and we had great food and service, but the table near us complained that they did not get some of their food and then while we were paying our bill the other party was trying to get stuff removed that they had not been served. I enjoyed it.

There are several Taquerias in Half Moon Bay. They are really good. You have to try them all and pick which one as your spot. Happy Taco certainly is one of the better ones. Lots of Mexican bottle beers. All kinds of tacos, burritos and your typical Mexican favorites like enchiladas and nachos. Salsa bar with indoor seating and food to go. Very inexpensive and large amounts of food. You will leave happy!
