Pollo Loco right off the 60 freeway. This is a local place for me and I have visited several times. I actually drive to either of the other two near by pollo loco (la puente or Rowland heights) just to avoid dealing with the horrible service this place provides. They have some long tenure employees that feel as if they own the place. You have to practically beg them for an extra bag or extra napkins. I have actually been told not to grab salsa so that they don't out. The worst part of all is how often they don't give you a complete order. For example you order a 12 piece mix piece and you find one breast, one wing and just legs as the rest of the order. If you try to ask them to correct the order, they get extremely aggressive and defensive. I have seem people actually getting out of the restaurant arguing with the cook and manager. So it has not just happened to me. My last visit I got 3 less pieces in a 16 piece order. When I asked they to correct the order, all of the employees started to argue with one another, some where on my side and other were making me feel as if I had not paid for the order. Ever a guy washing tables when and argue with the cook about not giving correct order out and that this place always had too much drama. I have reported the issues to El Pollo Loco corporation a few times, but it seems like they have not addressed the issue in years.

We have been here a couple of times, but the most current time they forgot our table side guacamole. It is soooooo good. They did bring us a side bowl but it was not the same. Their dishes are large and could be shared depending on how hungry you are, I love that they put a small amount of zucchini in their fajitas, that was a nice surprise and would have loved more. It is always very busy and sometimes difficult to get a parking spot. Don't think you will disappointed if you try it.
Came here for dinner. Really wanted to like this place. Cute little restaurant. Had the ramen burger, calamari, bleu me away and pork belly bun. Only the pork belly bun was good. Bleu away was mostly rice with few pieces of fish. Ramen was soggy. Calamari was chewy. 45 was the total. Most likely won't be coming back.
My family has been trying to eat healthier and this is where we stop when we don't want to cook, but still want to eat healthier. Chicken Bowls and Chicken Salads are very good, and plenty enough to get you full and satisfied. Prices are excellent too.

This restaurant has zero curb appeal as it sits in a humble and unkempt strip mall with the Goodwill store as the main anchor. But walk into a cheerful and warmly laid out space. Everything here from the chips and salsa to the hand painted murals feels homemade and like a well run family operation The salsas margaritas and tortillas taste like they are from scratch and in general you can tell that they don't rely on canned sauces and spices. True this place still uses the old time refried beans, enchiladas and Spanish rice formula (that good old hangover food everyone craves sometimes)but they also have many fresh and novel items which indicates a chef with some adventure. Try at least one of the seafood items and one of the soups (meatball if you are not vegetarian) you will love the daily fresh salsas and homemade chips. Don't forget to have a margarita with the salt and chile edge! Ole

Given that this is the #1 rated restaurant at the moment on TripAdvisor, we wanted to give it a try. We had a great evening and meal, although we ordered too much! The environment is casual, kind of industrial chic. Phlight seems to attract a nice neighborhood crowd including families. We ordered chicken wings - huge order and tasty! Empanadas - one of the best things we ate. Pork belly taco and shrimp taco - only one to an order but really large and more of a refined than street-type taco. Esquite - tasty creamy corn. We found 5 items to be too much but we enjoyed everything. We look forward to going back on our next visit to Whittier.
