La Pampa is a restaurant based in the old historic part of Estepona. The building dates back to 1890 and was a farm house with an internal yard where the farmer kept his mules and donkeys. The food is Spanish with a twist, there is a very selected wine li
We booked this based on previous reviews without realising it had recently changed owners. However, the Irish guy that greeted us was pleasant although a little over the top with his wine reviews. The meal was lovely, good food, the wine was ok, and the atmosphere great. They should be up front about the new ownership though.Thank you for your review We have taken a board your comments with regards to the wine reviews. Our wine list has been put together by our wine consultant and is dedicated to Spanish wines including wines from less know regions. We have continued with the popular dishes that formed part of the menu when the restaurant opened for business at 70 Calle Sevilla Estepona 18 years ago.The restaurant is under new management but with an option to acquire it in the future. We work closely with Maria Jose (started La Pampa with her late husband Bodo) and we are doing out upmost to continue the legacy.

...we had guessed at 50% more!Stunning meal. Food fantastic and very interesting. We ordered a very expensive bottle of wine. That was more than half of a very reasonable bill. By a mile the best meal of our long weekend in Estepona. To prove the point, we have booked again for tonight. Fabulous!

We have been to El Legado twice now, once as a large group (14) and once with a small group of friends (6). On both occasions they excelled themselves producing excellent freshly cooked rustic style food with superb flavours and generous portions. service is sharp and was particularly good for the large group with dishes coming out quickly to allow everyone to eat together.Diners can choose from a good Menu del dia or from the a la carte menu, vegetarians are well catered for with a respectable choice of dishes. House wines were very good, you will pay a bit more if you choose a brand such as vina sol but overall prices are good.Sincere thanks for taking the time to write such an excellent review for us. We are one of only a few restaurants who offer a 14.95 Euro 3 course dinner menu as well as al la carte. Hope to see you all again soon. Kind regards, Juan y Mari.

Dinner - 2 adults and 2 small kids (7&5 years old). Very friendly and welcoming staff (the German guy). Really relaxed atmosphere of beach bar/restaurant, great views, good decor. Typical mediterranean food was excellent too, however not cheap at 90 EUR. Recommended!

This restaurant is in Av.Luis Braille - just a few hundred yards back from the the Estepona marina. Rather than park in the marina area for which there is a charge, you can park for free at the south-west end of Av. Luis Braille, from where it is just five minutes walk or so to Mar de Alboran.Mar de Alboran is situated in a rather dull row of shops etc. with a view of the back of the more upmarket harbour-side bars and restaurants - so don't go just for the view! The restaurant is small, with a row of tables inside opposite the bar counter, with spotlessly clean toilets right at the back and quite a few more tables outside under awnings, so fine for sitting out in hot weather. Service is fast, friendly and multilingual and as others have noted very enthusiastic ("best tapas in Estepona / Andalucia / Spain / the world")!And the food really is very very good, and attractively priced. We had five tapas for two at lunchtime, and with the bread, aioli and olives served automatically, this was ample. Boquerones were fried beautifully crisp and hot; pulpo a la gallega was buttery soft octopus on discs of melting potato with sweet pimenton and a glug of olive oil; the chicken croquetas were quite solid, and a little salty for our taste, but we ate them!; pig cheek was two small pieces braised in a brown gravy to a melting soft consistency served with some fries; and oxtail was also meltingly soft pieces of meat set into a pastry case about the diameter of a digestive biscuit - a sort of large scale oxtail vol au vent - also served with a few fries. We just had a couple of bottles of water to drink and a coffee to finish. Very nice food, and good value too. Most of the tapas dishes are around â¬5, although the slightly larger pulpo was â¬8.So not a great place for watching beautiful people or a romantic sunset, but very good food and excellent value.

We were on holiday as a Family in Estepona. My Wife, Daughter, Granddaughter & Grandson. We decided to have an evening meal at the Blue Dolphin, as it is conveniently located on the seafront. The surroundings are comfortable & practice. I decided to order the seafood paella, along with my Granddaughter, as the minimum order is for two people. When the meal arrived, it certainly did not disappoint! The presentation was very impressive, but the taste was an absolute delight! All meals that were served for my other Family members, were also very good. There were definitely no complaints. When I mentioned how impressed we were with the food, the Chef introduced himself, which was a very nice touch. The desserts that followed, were also delicious! The whole experience, from the food, to the views, was excellent!I have no hesitation in highly recommending the Blue Dolphin.

What more can I say about this little restaurant, that has not already been said. Found it through Tripadvisor, and was not disappointed. We took advice and made a reservation, would probably not have got a table if not. Just a very small, quirky place, in a delightful small square, with a few tables outside, and even fewer inside. The owner is the waiter, and his wife does the cooking. Their daughter provides the entertainment!! Her interactions with another customer's child was so amusing. Four of us visited a few days ago, ordered our drinks, the women ordered gin and tonic, and the bottle of gin was placed on the table, and we were invited to pour our own. Good gin too. But it was the food that sold it. It's a small menu and we decided to order several different courses, and share them. We took advice too, and ordered tuna. Best tuna we have ever had, tasty, moist and tender. The pork, in a delicious sauce was wonderful, prawns in oil and garlic the same, and a gorgeous cheese with marmalade, which sounds strange but was like everything else, absolutely delicious. All this came with intermittent helpings of bread, bread with cheese, bread with chorizo, none of which were charged for. We couldn't believe the cost of this meal, for what we ate. Best value for money in town. We will definitely be coming here again if we are ever in Estepona again, and will be recommending it to anyone we know who visits the town.
