If you're sick of the typical restaurant routine, this is a refreshing change of pace. The location is humble, with about six tables and a small bathroom. But the food speaks for itself. The menu offering is whatever they cooked that day. As we were first timers, they patiently explained how the menu worked (very friendly staff). We ordered beans and yellow rice, the beef stew, the roasted chicken, empanadas, plantains and a side of coleslaw, which was surprisingly good. The beef stew was very tasty, although we were served the last of the portion which was a little small. The roasted chicken was excellent, but a little on the dry side. I imagine if we'd had it fresh out of the oven it would have been fantastic. Really liked the rice and beans and the empanada was an easy winner. I liked that it's BYOB and by the time we were leaving (stuffed) there was literally a line out the door. Will definitely come back to explore more of the menu. Excellent value -- the buffet style service keeps the price down.

This is a family-owned restaurant, and they offer Mexican, Honduran and Italian cuisine (yes, Italian) in a spacious restaurant. It's not a fancy place, but they're friendly and the food is good. Prices are reasonable, but the soft corn tacos are a steal. Four tacos (you can get 2 of one kind, 2 of another) for $8, and quite filling. Parking is best on a side street or in the nearby public parking lot. No complaints.

During a convention this past weekend in Parsippany, NJ we stopped here for a quick bite after setting up our table for the event. It was approximately 5-10 minutes from Hyatt House Parsippany where we were staying. The food came quickly and their freshly made tomatillo salsa was such a delicious departure from the red salsa which I love anyway. We had the flautas and a burrito, the portions were huge and we were able to make two meals out of that lunch. Which is always a plus. So I definitely recommend Maddy's .
