Though probably best known as the capital of West Germany from 1949 to 1990 (and of reunified Germany until 1999), Bonn actually has a history dating back to the 1st century BC. Roman soldiers were stationed here and the largest known Roman fort was built at Bonn. In medieval times, the town gained prominence when the Archbishop of Cologne transferred his seat to Bonn. The city's most famous son is Ludwig van Beethoven, born in 1770 at Bonngasse, where a museum now honors him.

I recently ate here with friends. The service & staff were good. The food was good and particular mention to the tuna. My only disappointment was that they didn't have paella on the menu. I would recommend this restaurant

Great little place tucked away which seems like it would be impossible to stumble upon. Menu is only available in German and Spanish but the most expensive tapas is around â¬7-8.We turned up on a Sunday without a booking, but looks busy so would recommend booking on Friday/Saturday nights. Excellently laid out feeling very Spanish/continental with a fab warm welcome. Tapas was well cooked and interestingly presented.5 dishes were sufficient for two. The Chardonnay was excellent and staff service superb. Iâd be very happy to return for another dish.

In central area of Altstadt, on the main road opposite Himalayak. This is a supermarket during the day, in the evening converting itself into a restaurant. The food is gorgeous, they start you off with olives and breads with dips. This is moreish in itself. The menu is extensive, not all dishes are freshly prepared, from reading the menu you will understand. The paella is freshly prepared and as such there is a 45 min plus wait depending on how many people have ordered it.Mostly tapas is offered, with some salad dishes. I visited several times with friends in large group and we mixed different dishes. It gets very busy and it pays to reserve if you are more than two people. There is seating area outside in the warmer months. The service is not brilliant, however the vibe is quiet easy and laid back. Drinks, wine beer etc, you are encouraged to help yourself by finding the drinks you want. there is a bottling charge - but this is still very very cheap for some great wines.
