Cozy restaurant located in the center of Villena. It is divided in 5 independent rooms that provide an intimate and calm atmosphere. Specialist in rice dishes, snacks and homemade desserts. Meat and fish of the highest quality.Amplia and select wine list,
After several days in Alicante eating indifferent food served by incompetent and un-smiling waiters we decided to take a train to an inland town. Quite by chance we chose Villena for our day trip, and after looking at the the two top Trip Advisor restaurants, settled for La Teja Azul and we were not dis-appointed. As soon as we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by happy staff, who served us excellent food at a reasonable price.

Based on the day we visited this restaurant, a Sunday, this restaurant is very popular, it was packed. Nice atmosphere, with a sort of "Bistro Twist". When first looking at the menu, you are under the impression that the prices are very good, careful they do not include IVA, we had a bit of a shock when the bill came.We chose a fabulous red wine to go with our meal, a Tarima Hill Monastrel. Warm bread, tomato and alioli was brought to the table without us being offered it, we were then charged for it. For starters, I had the Goose Foie, I do not think it was goose foie, it tasted like a very ordinary duck foie. It was served with the minutest amount of Pedro Ximenez reduction and raisins and 4 shop bought biscuits. Nothing like the pictures on their web site. My wife had Huevos Rotos (Broken Eggs), this was very good, and enough for two people. For our main courses, my wife had lamb chops, just average and the fried potato's were nearly cold. I had the leg of lamb, beautiful and tender but it was the smallest lamb leg I have ever seen, mostly bone and very little meat. Nice coffee - then the bill, the bill was nearly 79.00 Euros, 85.00 with the tip, overpriced we thought for what we had, it was nothing outstanding' we can get food of a better quality and pay less. The right price for this meal should have been under 70.00 Euros taking everything into consideration. The Tarima Hill wine, a very nice wine was charged at 16.00 Euros plus IVA. Ridiculous, I know restaurants have to make a profit but this wine(exactly the same) in the local supermarket is 4.96 Euros. Would we go back? Unlikely.

I've reviewed this establishment on previous occasions and most of the waiters know me. ThIs time my daughter was with us.Most of the delicaces are original and you won't find them in other restaurants. In total we shared 6 dishes. With 3 glasses of wine, coffee, & water. We were charged 3 euros for bread(which we didn't order) The bill came to 62 euros. Some of the dishes are miniscule in size.( e.g the vegetable cake) Now don't get me wrong, this restaurant is always worth a visit if you're looking for something exquisitely different. The service is impeccable and the ambience fine. It's the "small" negatives mentioned that persuaded me to rate vg instead of excellent. I shall no doubt return though. I'm a glutton for something.......?
This is a small bar which extends its seating into Plaza de Espana, a lovely square with some gorgeous looking buildings. Plenty of space to sit and catch up with friends. Limited food selection, tapas are poor by most Spanish standards. A nice place to sit and sip a glass or two of cold beer.
Tapas, Paellas, Regional Cuisine, Meat dishes in Biar, Alicante. With terrace. Daily and Weekend Meal Deal (Starter + Main + Drink + Bread + Dessert or Coffee).
Enjoyed an impromptu lunch when visiting Biar. Good menu del dia at 9euro and very friendly efficient service. Especially enjoyed the calamari and mushrooms. Easy walk to the cultural area and castle to work off the lunch.

The town itself is quite nice. It is an inland village rich in Islamic history located in the mountain range called âSierra Mariolaâ. It's main attraction is a 12th century majestic castle overlooking the village: itâs beautiful! Like many castles which are set upon the cityâs hill, you need to have comfortable shoes to make the climb up through the narrow curvy pebble stone streets. Other places worth visiting are the church and sanctuary.

Restaurante en el hotel Villa de Biar, situado a las faldas de la sierra de Mariola, un rincón encantador donde degustar platos que combinan la tÃpica cocina regional de la zona con la innovación y vanguardia lo que hacen una combinación perfecta en un lu
This time we had visitors from England, this included my son-in-law who was a Michelin Star Chef. We tried different things this time, the foie pate was a delight, the vegetable and aioli stuffed squid was delicious. My wife said the hake with the trout caviar was amazing. Positive remarks from all the others around the table we finished off with a chocolate fondant, heaven on a plate if you like chocolate. Coffee and Brandies finished off a fabulous lunch. The service was spot on, as it was the first time we visited. The restaurant is clean, crisp and modern. The setting outside is beautiful, you can also use the outdoor pool if you wish. Give it a try you will not be disappointed. Since this visit I have also taken four of our friends there, they also thought it was very good.

Great little restaurant opposite an amazing 16th Century Church.Dinner didn't start till nine so we enjoyed a few cold tapas, olives stuffed with anchovies chopped marinated vegetables, beers and wine to start with. Dinner was lovely all local tapa dishes, grilled Cheese, potatoes with Parma ham, beef and potatoes, stuffed peppers, calamari, grilled octopus, frittata and all finished off with a fantastic Chocolate cake, and two very special local deserts but I can't remember what they were called. The waitress was super, very friendly and helped us with our choices. The bill for 4 for drinks and dinner was very economical. Highly recommended

Very tasty food. We struggled to find a restaurant open and most had closed due to late in season so ended up here for 4 of our evenings. On menu it states charge for table service and another of 90c for bread. We were charged almost an extra 5Euro on top of our food which we actually didn't notice till our last night so queried it. Were told we had been charged it on each night (we were even shown our previous bills!!) as if that made it correct!! We could not explain to them in Spanish and they couldn't understand our English so we gave up! Also, noticed our meals cost an average 1.50 euro more than stated on menu??? Felt a little conned, and a little sad that this spoilt an otherwise pleasant visit.

I am visiting again this bar/restaurant in Biar and I am even happier than ever for the service. We went there with the kids for dinner. Had some tapas and sandwiches for everyone, including drinks, some dessert and coffee and paid 70 eur for 13 persons!!! The quality of the sandwiches has now improved because the have a new type of bread, really tasty and crunchy, it goes very well with the well filled sandwiches they offer. The staff is the same as ever, always friendly and helpful. I have seen them struggling to please English speaking customers. Do not misunderstand me, they do not speak English ,but will do all possible effort to make sure you come out happy and well fed.
