La comida estaba buena, el personal muy majo, pero esperábamos algo más del local y, sobre todo, de la presentación de los platos. El solomillo con patatas fritas no nos gustó demasiado. Y no es precisamente barato

Casanova is possibly one of the most impeccable restaurants I've ever set foot in.It was a refreshing case of true "fine-dining" without the exorbitant prices you would normally associate with such an experience, as many of the mains are priced within the â¬12-15 range. In short, we were greeted by a modern setting but with a clear nod to history (without an ounce of kitch) in a listed building, spectacular service (attentive, cordial, friendly, professional and never overbearing), totally homemade authentic and tasty food and, also, traditional menu but with a distinctly unique personality. For instance, the excellent "almejas a la marinera" was coated in a spectacular sauce/soup that gave it a very special taste that, to be honest, you won't find in many other places.Similarly, one of our mains, "bacalao en salsa de coliflor" was one of a kind and tasted exceptional. It's also worth adding that we were treated to a mini "aperitif" as we sat down: an Andaluz 'shot' of gazpacho, which was top notch. As for the wine, take your pick amongst the Galician best. We went for the most local choice which is a white from Betanzos itself ("vino de la tierra de Betanzos") called "Eladio Migal" and we were in owe. Light, gentle, and with a lot of personality.Just a real pity that we don't live in Betanzos because I'm fairly sure we'd be regulars at "Casanova".

This was recommended by a friend and we are SO pleased! Service is excellent and inside there is space and atmosphere. This town is famous for its Spanish omelette....tip.....order the mini one as that is enough for 4 people, its just. Wonderful. The seafood is as always amazing. Their local meat croca is outstanding and again itâs a place where its good to share your food this way you can sample more of their delights.

This has become one of my favorite spots to eat when I am in Galicia. You can find here the most traditional dishes of the region for a very good price. The place is cozy, clean, the food is fresh, and the dishes are out of this world. My favorites are: Empanada gallega, Callos, Pulpo, Gambas con cachelos, Salpicon de Bogavante, Croquetas vegetarianas, Rodaballo al horno, Mero a la Ondarresa, Jarrete de ternera al horno, Ensalada de Salmon con aguacate y mango, Solomillo de ternera al Oporto. They have a variety of wines selections pair your dish with. And by the way, the hosts Juan Carlos and Esther are really friendly and welcoming which makes you feel at home but in a restaurant. They are located in the heart of Betanzos where you can walk around appreciate the town emblematic architecture.

At the back street but it is full early. There are many people from Betanzos eat there, so it must by realy good. Perfect tortilla and garlic pulpo, i think best in our Camino Ingles dinners. Very reasonably priced.

This small restaurant in the historic district of Betanzos serves the very best Spanish cooking. My tour group ate in a private room at the rear, which was a perfect environment for our lunch. Service was excellent. We had a variety of tapas dishes to start, then a main course of either beef or hake. Both main dishes were cooked to perfection, incredibly tender. The best of the tapas were an egg and seafood salad and grilled sardines on a layer of cream cheese and caviar on toast. Dessert was a really tasty apple and cinnamon cake with chocolate ice cream. This was the best so far of a series of great lunches on the trip.Thank you for your opinion is a pleasure read something like this,Thank so much, nice to meat yours.

Come and taste our Galician cuisine Grilled meat and fish. Celebrate with us your wedding, communions, family reunions .... We will make it an unforgettable day
Good traditional food at very reasonable prices. Imperative to reserve during the week ends as it can get very crowded.

If you are looking for that 'Gallego' bar this is it. Really. As we were in town looking at what the GF calls Casa-Roofless' and fancied a snack we looked on TripAdvisor and saw 1931 is the top spot and was only about 50m away we thought we'd pop in. The barman is a pony-tailed Gallego with clever eyes, a wry smile. and an interest in homemade liquors. 1931 has amazing local wines from 70c up to about 3.50E and its owner [born 1931] is the champion Tortilla maker of the area. In Galicia, with its colder climate, the tortilla is served a little more browned on the outside, but with the vibrant yellow eggs still runny around the explosively floury potatoes that grow in the region. Worth a mention are slabs of cheese so sweet it was like butter served with the best anchovies I've ever had, pastry cups filled with molten goats cheese, sweet pepper jam and crisped jamon iberico and a fantastic selection of croquetta

Authentic, local and not very touristic restaurant. We had the Rodicio Completo which consisted of unlimited salad buffet, hot sides and the main event, an epic stream of sumptuous mouthwatering meat. They grill 14 different types and cuts of meat and deliver and slice them at your table. And to finish it off, surprisingly tasty grilled pineapple! All for â¬18.50 pp. â¬22 pp including soft drinks and a glass of wine. No English spoken but very friendly staff!Gracias
