If you are in the mood for authentic Guatemalan cuisine then I highly recommend this quaint family owned restaurant. I was very pleased with the friendly service, the food quality and the taste and ambiance. I ordered Pepian and Chiles Rellenos and was impressed! Just like back home when my abuela used to make them!

We routinely have our holiday party here as it is convenient and reasonable priced per person. I always order the black bean soup as a starter as it is really good. I am also a big fan of the paella. The sangria is top notch and they host a lot of holiday parties. If you are looking to have a large party down neck, this is a great choice.

Established in 1932 Spanish Tavern is the oldest restaurant in New Jersey specializing in cuisine from Spain!
First time at this restaurant and fell in love with it. Service, wine list and food was fantastic. They bring bread and complimentry soup and we had ordered calimari which was good. We tried paella that was the best I've had in the US. So full we did not experience desert. Some on street parking and a well lit lot across the street for restaurant patrons.

Love this cafeteria style Latin Restaurant! Ample seating, helpful and friendly servers and food galore! I purchased pork chicharrones, steamed mixed vegetables, Spanish rice, rotisserie chicken, and pork ribs. I was not disappointed once I opened the massive spread when I got home! Also, the $20 I spent on the meal was the best value for that much food. Next time, I'll try the individual meals in a combo, because there is ample seating, huge selection of refreshments and desserts, and also a salad bar where they make it to order. A must try when in Bayonne, NJ!

I recently dined at the Mediterraneo with a friend, whose favorite restaurant in Bayonne previously was Rincon de Espana, but who wanted to try Mediterraneo because he felt that lately Rincon had been going downhill.Pros:(1) Service is exemplary. In fact, if anything, the servers could be considered a little too attentive!(2) The food is pretty solid European Spanish cuisine. Only negative comment was my friend said his Galician soup was a bit too salty.(3) Restaurant's atmosphere is attractive and well-lit, something my middle-aged eyes appreciated.(4) Mediterraneo's Sangria is excellent.Cons:(1) Though the food is competently prepared European Spanish cuisine, it is not quite equal to the best Spanish/Portuguese restaurants in Newark's Ironbound section, such as Spanish Tavern, Fornos of Spain, and Don Pepe's.(2) Mediterraneo is rather expensive. Our meal (and neither of us had dessert), before taxes and tip, worked out to almost $53 per person; taxes and a 20% tip brought it to over $66 per person.(3) No off-street parking. Conclusion: if you want Spanish cuisine and don't want to leave Bayonne, and are not too put off by the menu's high prices, Mediterraneo is probably your best choice.

I took a couple of friends for their birthdays, which are a few days apart, and this was the favorite restaurant in Bayonne of one of them. Besides it's only two blocks away, so we could walk there. I'm accustomed to the great Spanish-Portuguese restaurants in Newark's Ironbound section, where I used to live, so my expectations of that cuisine may be a bit high. Service was fine at Rincon de Espana and prices are reasonable. The food was good. I wouldn't say it's outstanding, but I would conclude that you will get competently prepared Spanish cuisine at this restaurant.

Beso is an awesome Tapas/Spain Menu influenced Restaurant located right in CBD area of Staten Island. It should not come as a surprise to those of you looking for something different. Beso raises the Bar. Featuring a Tapas Menu thatâs full on, you can base your dining experience just on that alone or you can order off the menu.We chose their Ceviche and Mussels Tapas. Wow, delicious and balanced together. Then followed it up with Veal Porcini which was decadent and the wife had a Catalan Tuna with sautéed spinach, very well done.I strongly suggest Beso...itâs a romantic dining place. Thanks Tripsters,Chef Edwin Good Food...
