It is separated from the mainland by Biscayne Bay, over which the land masses are connected via the Broad Causeway. On the mainland side, BHI is bordered by the city of North Miami, while to the east it borders the villages of Bal Harbour and Surfside. To the south lies the exclusive village of Indian Creek. BHI is about 20 minutes' driving distance away from Miami International Airport, and it is situated between the larger cities of Aventura and Miami Beach.

Nicki's Sweet Confections is a relatively new place in Bay Harbor Islands. As our granddaughter has a nut allergy and they have a sign that says no tree nuts used, we stopped in to give it a try. We had their macaroons - fantastic ! Their single serving apple pie - another winner. And their cheese role - wow ( we did carry out). We have lived and traveled the world and this bakery easily competes with this best. It isn't a large place and the selection is limited but they excel at what they do make.

What a great local find: Authentic, rustic, reasonably priced and good quality food. Highly recommended to anyone who wants a taste of Miami. The entire meal pictured below only cost $9!

This is a very charming,European style bistro with a friendly vibe and very well prepared food. We very much enjoyed the burrata appetizer, grilled shrimp, snapper and dulce de leche flan. Highly recommended.

Beautiful big lunch... mahi mahi with a loaded-with-BIGshrimp- Creole sauce, rice, black beans, and plantain (sweet or savory choice). Nice sangria (they have wine and beer menu) There was more than we could even eat, and really really delicious. If we were staying someplace with a fridge we would have taken the leftover, for sure. Service was lovely and personal.

Wow, such good food, such a friendly server, such large portions and the best mojito and margarita ever!The Ropa Vieja was delicious and came with two side dishes that you can pick from a selection of ten or so. Sazon has a very comfortable dining area.They can seat large and small parties.The pricing is average, not cheap and not expensive.Thank you for taking the time to review and rate us, Tim! My family and I were staying in North Miami for a quick trip and were looking for some Cuban food when we stumble upon this place in the listings. Let's just say it was exactly what we were looking for and it did not disappoint. Accompanied by some live music (which wasn't too loud at all like most places), the entire atmosphere was fun and great for families or groups.The food, from the appetizers to the main dishes were fantastic. I would recommend starting off with the fried yuca cheese balls (deliciosos!) and the plantain chips (some of the best I've ever had; light and very crispy). For the main courses, the ropa vieja was a popular choice, as was the Little Havana Steak. We were pleasantly surprised each entree came with white rice, black beans, and fried plantains so it is definitely a great value for the price.As for drinks, the mojitos were delicious. We tried the regular and the mango and both were very good, and nice and strong :)The service was just as great. We can't wait to come back next time we visit Miami!
