This review is a revisit of one of our favorites. We have gone to Ostras many times, but our two July visits were lacking. The dishes were still great, but the portion size has been reduced, making the tapas very expensive. Also the service was awful. Lots of staff in training with little supervision. We left a little disappointed. Still the best in Ashland, but not nearly as good.Hello Neil, thank you for your feedback! What a lovely, unexpected find. We had never eaten Basque food, so why not try it? A very small venue but a welcoming staff happy to answer questions and make suggestions. The owner and chef is actively involved from the open style kitchen to waiting tables while chatting with customers. Food is served family style, so I suggest you try several things to share. Check out the framed photo on the table as you enter to see the grandmother of the owner, who taught him to cook. The joy and pride of the owner is evident and all to our benefit. Oh, and did I mention everything we tried was phenomenal!

Our party of 17 (school spring trip) came here for dinner while visiting Ashland. We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel's front desk. It did not disappoint!We have a vegan in our party and a couple of picky eaters and everyone was able to find something to eat. The servings were large and the free nachos and salsa on the table were refilled as needed. We even had entertainment from 2 ladies who sang!
