Nothing exciting or spicy about the food here...just decent food to fill your belly. We were hoping for an outstanding mom-and-pop and were sorely disappointed. The beans were good, and creamy on the Frito pie. I'd never seen it made with cream of mushroom soup before. The green chile stew was chunky, with meat and vegetables...not your typical New Mexican green chile stew. Flavor of all was "meh" but the servings were sizeable, service was friendly and quick, and the price was right. People seem to like it, so I hope they succeed.

I had the combo plate #3. Taco was excellent, Chile Renello was different, but tasty.Wish the red pork burrito was better, just average. The cheese enchilada had heat and was good. Place is a nice family place, nothing fancy. Service was a little slow, but your in T or C, not Chicago; embrace it. Plenty of parking in lot or one the one way street. No far from hotels. Cheap eats, under $20.

Like much in TorC, this burger joint seems caught in a time warp. Although that's part of the town's charm, the food didn't live up to our retro hopes. Hankering for New Mexican food, we split the combination plate -- a couple of enchiladas, a skinny chile relleno, a bit of lettuce and tomato, a small scoop of refried beans and Spanish rice that came swimming in liquid. The tostado on the side was crisp and not bad. The best thing about our meal was the green chile salsa. A spot of dried ketchup on our tabletop made us wonder about the overall cleanliness of the place -- and we were charged 50 cents each for tap water.

We wanted Mexican food and margaritas. They did not have a liquor license. They did have beer and wine. The food was ok, but no better. The service was slow.

Used to be located at 304 S. Pershing.
I really have no problem with the food. It is pretty good "when you finally get it"! Every time we have been in the service has been s-l-o-w! This is even when it is not crowded. So, it has been a while since we have been back. We are retired and not in a "big" hurry, but our time left on the planet is limited!

The Restaurant at Sierra Grande is a casual dining establishment in the heart of downtown Truth or Consequences. We offer New Mexico based Wines and Beers to go along with a variety of menu options such as Bison, Antelope, and Trout. Menu is changed seaso
We travelled to T or C for spring break to enjoy the area surrounding the town and to take an ecotour on one of Ted Turner's ranches. We stayed at Sierra Grande and had occasion to eat the the restaurant for our continental breakfasts and for a couple of dinners. The breakfasts had great choices with ample servings (lox and bagel was terrific). The dinner choices were great and reasonably priced. We especially loved the bison burger and the Southwest wedge salad. They also had a selection of wild game that we will try in the future.
