Find out what South American restaurants to try in Punta Arenas. Overlooking the Strait of Magellan, this isolated city in southern Patagonia bustles with windswept trekkers en route to glacier-filled Torres del Paine National Park or an Antarctic cruise. Before transiting, take note of the mansion-lined main square, Plaza Muñoz Gamero; the City Cemetery, with its elaborate tombs; and the Sara Braun Palace and Braun Menendez Residence, a preserved slice of the city's wealthy pioneer past. Daily flights connect the city with Santiago and Ushuaia.

Came with friends here. It was not busy as it was Monday evening. Pleasant music and relaxed atmosphere. Vaina is becoming less popular in Chile but in Punta Arenas it is still going strong. Good vaina and pisco sour and tasty fish and meat tablas. The meat was very soft and the scallops with cheese were good. It wasn't particularly cheap but I would recommend these dishes.

I had dinner here from a very eclectic menu. My spicy pork was Asian flavoured with a a Chilean twist and a fried egg on top.It was very good. The Chardonnay wine by the glass was also good and the price were reasonable. The place was packed with locals by 9 which is always a good sign.

Restaurant con ambiente familiar con 18 años de experiencia y sabor en Punta Arenas, siempre otorgando el mejor servicio a nuestros clientes.
The restaurant is within short walking distance from the main square. It has simple older furnishing and decoration. The food was excellent. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Service was fast and professional. There were many dishes on the menu. For Patagonia, the restaurant was an excellent value. This was one of the best restaurants on my trip in Patagonia. I recommend it.

Have been here several times (must ring doorbell to get in) and the atmosphere is fun, if you have 6+ people you can sit in the rowboat tables, pisco and rhubarb sours are good, wine is reasonable and lots of beer options. The food is pricey and on the last visit I had the worst ceviche I've ever had in my life which was so disappointing. Will likely not return.

Great price:satisfaction relationship. For 5000 CHP you get a fixed menu (a fancy restaurant will name it "three steps"), soup, main and desert, from a choice of kind of 12 main courses. I took a shellfish+veggies soup, a "pastel de papas" (beef & potatoe pie), and a gello as desert. Plus a glass of beverage. Some options are stews, pasta, schnitzel (beef or chicken) with potatoes (different styles) or salad.. Great rations and one finish largely satisfied. Well served, home-made fresh meal and better priced!! Incredible price for a dinner in town. Just 2 blocks from the main square.

Itâs a tiny menu with a few dishes but they do them really well ! Iâve been travelling across South America and had some amazing ceviche and this one was as good if not better than most !!We also had the shellfish soup (the only soup they have on the menu) which was great as well.Paid 10000 pesos for the meal, would definitely go again!

We had only one day in port on our South American Cruise, but were hoping to get some Crab. La Marmita unfortunately did not have the crab however we were not disappointed. We shared a wonderful Ceviche starter then I had a delicious salmon dish with vegetables and my husband had a lamb stew.together with a glass of Savignon Blanc each..The Restaurant was full downstairs but we almost had the upper floor to ourselves, the decor is very bright and fun and the staff friendly and efficient. Only drawback is cash only , so be prepared !!
