This is the place for a real local seafood meal! We had the seafood platter, which was beautifully presented and so good!Forgot to take a photo of our plate, we were so distracted to dive in...ha!Lobster, shrimps, whitefish, mussels... cooked perfectly.Tucked away a few streets back from the beach, one feels that they've found a secret spot.

We stayed in Playa Samara for a few days and were happy to see this soda near our hotel. We had quite a few meals here and the value cannot be beat! The arroz con pollo, natchos and quesadillas were amazing, large and full of flavour. We couldn't get enough of the fresh squeezed juice smoothies, especially the lemonade.If you are in the area, please check it out. Friendly, delicious and very reasonably priced.

Had the pork Casado, chicken empanada and ceviche. Pork was a little rubbery and the ceviche smaller than expected but the empanada made up for that in size. It was overall a tasty meal, with a nice view of the ocean. Owners might want to fix the fact that there are two different stereo systems playing conflicting music within earshot of the tables!Hi Gaurav, Thank you for your review and feedback. We absolutely love this little gem. Visited last year the beachlocation, but now Rachel has moved into the jungle, where, again, she built a little peaceful place. She is such a good cook and a very special person... She cooks with love, and you can taste that! The best lobster... She also wrote a most precious childrenbook, which is a must have, about Costa Rica. We visited her this year with our children and grandchildren, who all were as enthusiastic as we are. It was so nice to see you with your family in my new place! Thank you so much to apreciate my cook. I wish you the best and see you an other time, in the jungle!

We just arrived here after sunset on New Years. The place we stay at only accept cash. We discovered both ATMs in town to be without money. The 1st restaurant we went to (because of the reviews on TA) was closed. So were our 2nd and 3rd choices. One restaurant on the beach told us their kitchen just closed 9:15pm. Outside their board stated they close at 11. Two more restaurants only took cash. We finally just found Jardin Marino and quickly ordered something.What a pleasant surprise. The service was great and so was the food. The restaurant was moderately full and even when we left more people arrived and were served.They also accept plastic so when in doubt, check out Jardin Marino!!

That is how we feel, having dinner at home, Doña Flor and all her family took care of us, the food was great, we had the tradicional Costarican Casados, with beef, and fish, and the natural fruit juices, we LOVED.they showed to us their hotel/motel rooms that they are building and they look really nice.we would recommend this place not just for eat but also to stay if you are planning to go to Samara Beach"Doña Flor and Family, thanks for your Hospitality"Pura VidaThe Gonzalez Family

We came to see the live entertainment and thought weâd grab food as well. Big mistake. The service was terrible. I felt bad for the poor girl. She was completely overwhelmed though she really shouldnât have been, it wasnât that busy. They didnât have unchilled red wine and ironically said no to sangria. My fish (which was not good) - came without tartar sauce as mentioned in the menu. She brought me olive oil. She really couldnât understand what I was asking. The Yucca chips were battered in some flour batter. Very dry and tasteless. My husband had the âWasabi Tuna Burgerâ which came without any sign of wasabi. We didnât dare ask the server to sort that one out. I could only get 1/2 mine down. Just decided to go somewhere else. Itâs probably a fun spot if they actually have a drink you want and you donât eat anything.

Stopped by for margaritas and thinking of staying for dinner. Had tried jalepeno margaritas at Restaurante Catrina earlier in the week and they were excellent so my wife had one and I had a pineapple one. They were THE worst margaritas I've ever had and I've had them in many places. The jalepeno one was undrinkable and even tried mixing the two together to try to make them tolerable. Changed our mind on staying for dinner so i won't judge there. Server was friendly so no knock on her.

You canât miss this place if you come to Samara. This place has it all and just a 5 minute walk from Main Street Samara. Ambience. Beautiful and romantic twinkle lit covered deck. Amazing Cuisine. Though Iâm from California, I live in NYC. This place knocks it out of the park. I recommend the fresh local Lobster and the Lentil Green Salad. Fantastic presentation and delightful flavors. Tequila and Wine: The selection of Tequilas accompanied by their special lime (youâll have to ask the bartender Guaro what is on it but I can attest it is sublime... no pun intended) The owner Carla is delightful, our server Carlos was professional, fun and attentive. Iâm going to be in Samara for four months attending the Intracultural Spanish Language School. This place just might be my dining room. Thank you so much for your delightful and inspiring review!! Passed this bistro several times heading to my hotel and it always seemed busy, one evening nearing the end of my stay I decided to stop and explore. Was pleasantly surprised on the outcome, nicely presented in all manners, the menu, the wine,the food and the ambiance. It was a really nice experience and the Sauvignon Blanc wine was well selected and reasonably priced. If your in the area I would certainly recommend a visit,even just for a glass of wine and a chat in the ambiance, SuperbThank you very much for your kind review John !
