Right in by Olga's beach bar and la Luna's, it's a small, family owned place with very nice staff, great service, and great vibe. Just bought a house up the road, will be a regular at this place.

I did not stay at Lagarta, but did go for dinner. The view is the best in the area, and it's worth it to go for a drink and watch the sun set. However, the bugs are terrible, and it's a known secret in Nosara that Lagarta is famous for their "no-see-ums" which pack a big, itchy bite. The staff does provide bug spray, but we did flee inside as soon as the sun set to eat our dinner in peace. The service was nice but the food was mostly awful. Our salad and octopus were fine, but our main courses were awful. I had the coffee rubbed tenderloin atop mashed yucca. The meat was completely undercooked (purple!), and the yucca was inedibly garlicky. They took my meat back to cook, but it was still underdone. The rub was not great either. My friend described her pasta dish as "airplane food". It's the classic "great view, crappy food" paradox. I hope management invests in a better chef. That would make this place perfect.

Our restaurant specializes in making meet on the grill with the unique argentinian style. After 15 years on Puerto Carrillo, we are glad to have our second restaurante in Guiones, Nosara, where you will find the same quality and care for the customer's be
We went for an Argentinian al fresco dinner and really enjoyed ourselves!-Very welcoming casual environmentâbut you can still have an elegant and romantic dinner.-We got a nice table in the open air dining room with a nice view.-Our server was very friendly and attentive.-Cocktails were tasty. They also had a good selection of wines for the area.-Warm rolls and butter were served right away.-Melted provolone cheese appetizer was deliciousâsimilar to a queso fundido. It was served with great garlicky crostini.-Steaks were grilled by the chef right in front of our eyes. They were juicy and tender and cooked a perfect medium rare. We got one ribeye and one New York strip. We preferred the ribeye. They were served with a decent side salad and fantastic chimichurriâwe had to ask for extra!-One of the proprietors was walking around speaking Spanish and Italian and making sure everyone was comfortableâexactly what you hope to see!

Bar Olga's is one of the older and authentic Costa Rican restaurants in the Nosara area. Olga's is located on the beach with a wonderful ocean view. This is a fun, family beach and the favorite place to watch sunset for many locals. The food is good, the
We just had smoothies there -- which are wonderful -- so can't speak to the food, but just a fun place to hang with the locals on the beach.

The restaurant at the Gilded Iguana will be up and running for Nov 2014. The new management brings the BEST food in the area and finally will get the spotlight they deserve. Look for more info to be released soon.
We have been here on 2 occasions now. The service is horrible. It takes 30 plus minutes to get a drink. The food is mediocre at best. I had pizza which was nothing special. 10pies down the street is way better and the service is better. My husband had tuna and he said it was ok but the service made us not want to go back and we wonât. Hello GullickC,We apologize if you didn't enjoy your visits to our restaurant, we will definitely review our processes. There have been some crazy busy days but that is not an excuse to not offer a good service or make our customers wait so long for food or drinks. We will be making some changes to our menu and comments like these help us offer better options. If you do ever visit us again we hope to change your mind about our restaurant. Thank you!

If you are visiting Nosara, venture away from the beaches some. This is a great little place just outside of the downtown area. Argentine style in an outdoor fireplace. Food was really good and different from what you will find anywhere else. Owners are there and are really good, cool people.

We have gone to El Local a few times. The setting is nice, and the food pretty good and priced OK. But the service can be slow to atrociously slow which at this point will make me think twice about returning. I just don't think the server asking if "everything OK here?" when we've been waiting for 45 minutes for our food added to the experience!

The Black Sheep is unique. It is an original Boutique Inn that is 15 minutes from the beach on one of the highest mountains in Nosara. You will wake up with a mountain view and most likely surrounded by monkeys. Get away from the tourists and bustle of th
It's not just that K Raye is super-friendly accommodating and very interested in her guests that makes this the best pub in Costa Rica. It's the views overlooking the valley in the ocean. Several mush tree canopies with howler monkeys and other species of monkeys hanging from the vines and interacting with guests from afar. It's also that on Sundays you get the taste of live music and folks come up from everywhere Costa Rica together for drinks and music. Biergarten has incredible views under a rustic canopy. K Rae's place has beautifully kept Gardens with coconut trees. If you're lucky and agile she may let you borrow her machete and retrieve your own coconut. This is a great place for a meal and drink, get to know the local area away from the town of nosara. The pub is situated off the beaten path way up the mountain keep going there are signs that will let you know that you still have some distance to go every time you begin to think you've gone too far. Look for those signs it's a little out of the way but it is totally worth it this place is a gem.I stayed at the Buddha hotel in San Juanillo, surfed in mar bella then Guiones and made it a point to come hereHello Monica! I apologize for not responding sooner, I am just now seeing the reviews. Thank you so VERY much for such wonderful words. I am so glad you enjoyed this hidden gem. I appreciate all of your kind words and hope to see you again. have a wonderful day! :-) K-Rae

Love this place. Great food that is prepared with care. Our table Ok ordered spare ribs, Mahi mahi, and empanadas. The sauces they serve are unique and excellent. Fresh salads to go with it all. Coconut potatoes are soooo good. Not sure how they get them so coconutty but some things should be left mysterious.
