I thought this place would be great but it was really average.I ordered the fillet mignon with fries and rice. I ended up getting just a normal fillet steak, not a mignon cut. The fries were undercooked - pretty raw in the middle.Overall a bit of a let down, maybe it's because it's off season and the B-team are working!

On the road, I generally try hard to eat at different places. I stumbled on Dona Eva with some friends the first night in Guaruja after checking into Casa Grande (see separate review). For two of the three of us, it was a great introduction to Brazilian food. Fresh salad, tasty fries, good beer, and a local fish dish. The third member of our group was vegetarian - a challenging situation in Brazil. He found a satisfactory - but unimaginative pasta dish. The next night I found a couple of conference go-ers who wanted to take me to their "find". Dona Eva again. I tried some other offerings, just as good. My final meal in Guaruja was lunch today. A different group of folks at the conference were eager to share their favorite restaurant - Dona Eva! This time it was a shrimp stew with lots of veggies - and rice on the side. We three shared that, a "salad" of palmitos (palm hearts - now one of my favorite Brazilian veggies), and some fries to dip in the stew juice. Why do fries outside of the U.S. taste so good? CAVEAT: go with a group --- almost all of the items are "para 2".

Combinati is always reliable for a decent, well-priced meal in the center of Guaruja's Pitangueiras Beach. Order the basics, fish with broccoli and garlic, or chicken with salad and you can't go wrong. Their eggplant (beringela) and garlic bread are to die for. Recommended.

Avelino's is the only restaurant in Guaruja, that I know is really at the beach. The food is very well don, specially fish. The dishes can be shared by two or three people. You can even drink good wine if you want.
This is one of the best quiosque in Guaruja Beach . Great caipirinha and pastel de carne and excellent services

Restaurante beira mar especializado em frutos do mar que também serve pizzas e feijoada (aos sábados).
Went with my girlfriend for dinner. The atmosphere was great with live music. She ordered fish and I ordered "picanha". Really poor service. Waiters really didn't feel like serving us. The fish tasted terrible and the "picanha" was ordered medium-rare and it came looking like charcoal. We re-ordered, and the waiter complained. Meat tasted really bad and we left frustrated...

My wife and I were looking for something that wasn't fried/semi-healthy to eat for our evening meal and had seen Monduba as we walked by daily. Restaurant wasn't very busy and we were seated and served quickly by a friendly young waiter. We explained we were in a bit of a rush and were assured our food would be prompt which it was.My wife had salmon and passion fruit which came with mash, salad and veg (could've been slightly less cooked, but very much prefer it this side of the coin), she enjoyed it. I had the filet mignon with mandioca mash, onions two ways (crispy battered and caramelized) there was a small pot of rice accompanying too. Meat was cooked slightly pink in trhe middle, wasnt asked how i prefer so perhaps ask if you like it different to medium. Only thing missing from this dish was a few bits of veg to a) brighten it up b) give me some fibre. All in all 59R$ for salmon, 69R$ for the steak. Good portion sizes and very tasty food.

Even though Dalmo seems to be a bit pricey, you know youâre having quality products. Food is delicious and the service is great! Waiters are very friendly. Mixed seafood risotto is very fresh and well prepared. Only negative point is that they have high chair for toddlers that doesnât fit the little ones.
