In my opinion this is one of the best restaurants in the village of Bormio. Very tasty food. Risotto with porcini mushrooms is just amazing! Staff - above all praise!Dear Mr. Fox, you spent your time for a double review: one for the Hotel and one for the Restaurant !Thank you very much for that.We are very glad you appreciated our Cuisine, and the Chef Eligio is even more glad than anybody else.Best greeting from Bormio !Alessandro.

I was born and raised in Valtellina and have had the local pizzoccheri and sciatt in literally dozens of restaurants and as many homes of family and friends. Eira's offering are right up there in the top 5%, and undoubtedly the best of half a dozen we tried in Bormio. We followed the owner's recommendation and tried samplers of the daily specials... a feast for the senses with some very clever variations of the usual traditional fare, and some unusual local delights.Pleasant enough ambiance with stunning views. So popular with the locals you may have to put up with some noisy Italian mealtime cheerfulness.... so not for a quiet romantic dinner.... but top of the tops cuisine and local color.

Great local dishes with large portions and reasonable prices. The Pizzoccheri and Bresaola were very good! Rustic/authentic atmosphere- do not expect a fancy restaurant. Our sever was helpful regarding selection but we had to ask for the bill 3 times and were waiting for an hour to receive it, which put a hamper on an otherwise great dinner.

Well to be honest, this former Saw Mill is more of an institution for those with big appetites...amazing references to the saw mill past, some actually moving...kids will love!Excellent price fox menu worth double what you pay...do not expect a intimate dining experience, this is the funnest restaurant in Bormio, where the locals take their guests for a unforgettable experience.

Very, very disappointed... I was told not to choose the vegetarian lasagna because it was small and cold, I was then told not to choose the âmemorable dishâ because it was small. Ordered the stew for â¬18 and it came quicker than McDonaldâs!! Then they wanted us to pay â¬6 charge for âusing the tablecloths and glassesâ. It felt like a kitchen nightmares episode, I was genuinely waiting for Gordon to appear the worst thing was the argument from the waitress about removing the service charge âmaybe they donât do this in your countryâ were her words hahahahahaThe poor is you who can not possibly afford dinner in a restaurant, given the only courses you have taken and not even willingness to pay for a consummate service.Fortunately we do not have customers like you !!!!!Maybe you can only afford to go to a McDonald with Gordon

A week's trip to Italy and I would normally be after traditional Italian cuisine and wine every night. However, this was in the German speaking Südtirol region very close to the Swiss and Austrian border. I researched the place in advance from a website devoted to beer and this place did well. I turned up about 19:30 and it wasn't too busy. A huge selection of beers served in porcelain tankards was a good plus. The menu was, unsurprising, very dominated by hearty meat dishes. However with the help of the waiter, we selected a vegetarian soup (cream of polenta soup) and a roasted goat's cheese dish which was either a starter or double sized portion as a main. That and a very tasty appetiser and some lovely smoky tasting rye and crisp breads made this a really enjoyable meal. With two beers and the food, the bill came to just â¬27 making it one of the best meals in a long while.
