Chip and confortable, good food and wonderful beer
We were looking for a simple dinner after a drive from Bologna. Doubtful of what food they'll serve us, we just gave it a go. The prosciuttos were home made which made it less salty than commercialized ones. The cheese with compliments the parma ham. We were served with different types of dishes until we could not take it anymore. The food were nicely done and delicious. Could not complain! Check this out when you get a chance!

Four of us ate 2 appetizers called fritto misto. It was massive, and delicious. Marinated anchovies, soup with fish, barley with fish, potato with octopus (beautifully tender).. there must have been 6 or 7 dishes. Delicious! We really enjoyed them. After, for primo, I had a gnocchi w pesto which was very good. My friends all had plates they liked very much. Friendly atmosphere, english spoken, busy and chaotic place but treat their clients well.

Disorganised chaos is the only way I can describe this osteria. How it has survived so long as a restaurant is beyond me.The food was appalling. Pasta with prawns which was pasta with prawn shells (nothing inside them) and stuffed mussels which were almost all closed and had the strangest taste, not sure at all what they were stuffed with. The only okay thing about this place is the price, which I can only presume is why people seem to like it. Personally I'd rather pay double and have something edible.Never again!we have been open for a century because others like us, ask why. From what you write you understand that you don't know what you say. Stuffed mussels must be closed !!! It is one of the oldest recipes of Liguria !!! And you come from the other side of the world to say you don't do that. Arrogant goodbye.

Situated in the pedestrian area, close to the "Museo Amedeo Lia", (a true gem, with a collection of more than 1200 works and pieces from the ancient Rome, to the middle age and the 18th century) and to the always animated market of Piazza Cavour, our rest
Hands down the best meal so far on our 3week long trip around Italy. The seafood risotto was delicious. The staff was friendly and offered us good advice on food and wine, but as the night progressed on we felt a bit âforgottenâ. It took way to long for them to clean out tables, we were not offered olive oil and balsamico for the appetizer etc.But as the food tasted so well, we can recommend it.

This charming restaurant off the main Street in LA Spezia was a lucky find. My wife and I are traveling throughout Northern Italy on honeymoon. We've been to Milan, Venice, and Bologna before arriving in LA Spezia. Italy has many historical and beautiful Churches, Basilica's, architecture and coastlines. For us what's most important is the food! Before eating at Bartali, our best meal so far was at Trattoria Oberdan de Mario in Bologna. After waiting about 20 minutes to be seated around 10pm we we're treated to the best meal we've ever had. We ordered the Mixed Seafood appetizer to start. Superb. Next was the grilled octopus, a hearty portion of tentacles that were crispy at the surface them oh so tender throughout. A must have. Followed the octopus with a calamari pasta, perfectly cooked pasta in tomatoes sauce with rings of tender squid. Perfect again. We also had the stuffed mussels, seafood spaghetti, and the ovened fish. Everything was beyond delicious. A seafood culinary tour of the highest quality. We ate all of this with two bottles of wine all for only $136 Euros including two desserts.I'd travel the 15 hours to Italy by airplane just to eat here again. My compliments to the exceptionally skilled chefs at this Osteria. Try it, you will not regret it.
