Historic Charleston is bursting with Southern charm and hospitality. The city feels a bit like it’s suspended in time, thanks to its antebellum architecture and surrounding plantation landscapes. We were here a few years ago and looked forward to returning. We were very disappointed. We ordered an Asian-style chicken dish with mushrooms and peanuts plus a seafood plate with scallops, rice, and a few unseasoned, steamed vegetables. Each came with either soup or salad. The soup was a bland ginger-carrot and the salad basic, with lettuce and carrot. With two smallish glasses of wine, the total was $52.00. The wait staff was pleasant but the dining experience was neither a good value nor a good dining experience. Perhaps lunch here is a better option.

This was our first time to Charleston with a group of 4 couples. We travel around a lot and like to eat, drink, take in the city sites and have fun. The hotel recommended we try five loaves for lunch. The food was fabulous, but for some reason the service was just not right. It felt like they just wanted us to eat and run. We would have stayed and kept visiting, eating and drinking, but we left.Hi Phil, We are so sorry to hear about you feeling rushed while visiting our restaurant. That's certainly not what we like to hear! It was not our intention and hopefully you can give us another chance next time you're in town. We're so pleased to hear you enjoyed the food! Thanks again for visiting us and we hope you had a great visit in Charleston.

Probably one of my favorite food stops on our anniversary trip. SNOB was one of those places that numerous locals said we had to fit in, so we went there for lunch. GREAT decision. Our waitress was so nice, the sweet tea to die for, and our entrees were absolutely delicious and well represented the flavors and cooking style of the south. Will definitely go back on our next visit. I will say this, the place was packed at 1:00 on a Friday so I suggest a reservation. Happy eating!

Lovely restaurant with great food and great service. Of 3 places I tried the fried chicken, this was, hands down, the best!! Itâs boneless chicken breast, which I prefer. The breading and juiciness of the chicken were outstanding. Also tried the bouillabaisse which was also outstanding. Portions are way too generous.
