For me, this dish is part of how I've experienced Norway. This is a huge portion of steamed mussels in coconut milk with sweet basil and chilli. Two pieces of bread accompany the dish. The taste is excellent! You will not be disappointed when selecting this dish over the many others on offer.

We decided to go ethnic after eating quite a bit of seafood in Bergen and walked up to Enjoy Saigon, about a 10 minute walk from the central square. We were the only people in the restaurant but they seemed to have a pretty active takeout business, which may have slowed down the service. We ordered different vermicelli-based dishes, one with pieces of spring roll and the other with pork. Both were delicious. Everything tasted fresh, the presentation was beautiful, and we both ate every bite in our bowls. It was a little expensive for Vietnamese food but I think that's just Norway. I highly recommend this spot for a break from more typical Norwegian food.

Had a very tasty duck salad and a nice glass of wine. After the initial serving the waitress came to my table once - in 2 hours. Seemed more interested in talking to her co-worker and cell phone unfortunately.

Brian Boru is Norway's only Irish-owned, Irish pub! You'll find this authentic Irish pub in the heart of Bergen, close by to the famous Fishmarket. Come by for hot food, a great selection of beer on tap, live music, live sports and as we would say in Irel
On my last day at Bergen, I came across this pub while looking for a place to grab a beer in central Bergen. After finally finding a pub named after me (nevermind that they spelled Bryan with an "i"... I still like to think that my name is written on the front door!), I knew I had to go in. And I'm glad I did!The atmosphere is that of an authentic Irish Pub: austere-but-cozy wood furniture lavishly decorated with Irish-related items. There were coats-of-arms hanging on the walls, flags, and even some rugby decoration. A large TV screen broadcasts the best sports matches going on â which, on the lazy July evening that I visited, happened to be darts. The friendly atmosphere was further enhanced by the great bartender Niamh. She does a great job of keeping the place friendly and welcoming. She knows how to encourage conversations between strangers who are looking for a nice chat. I tried a few of the local craft beers before ending the night on Guinness and I must say that everything Niamh recommended was great. The prices are also pretty good â or as good as possible considering how expensive Norway is...Sadly, I haven't had the chance to try the food, but if I ever come back to Bergen this will be top of my list.Bryan can hardly recommend Brian enough!

Serving delicious warm and healthy soups from all over the world. Pinsa Italiana with imported products from Italy, Handmade wraps and Italian espresso coffee for breakfast.
We wanted to have a small evening snack before leaving the town and found this little soup place. We had 3 different soups - they were all tasting very delicious and the big portions were enough as a meal and not only a snack. It is very small inside, but we found a space for all of us. Service was friendly and take-away is also done there as a few people came in to pick up a take-away.

From reindeer soup to Thai, burgers to sushi, and many options in between...even the most picky eater will find something delicious and filling!Quickly seated at a table, the restaurant is routinely filled with a mix of tourists and locals. Service is quick, very exact, and efficient. We had a primary server, but many stopped by to check we were okay. The efficiency was amazing regardless of helping groups of twenty people or two.Reindeer soup is rich and a meal unto itself. The duck red curry is plentiful and perfectly seasoned. The house red wine was a wonderful vinho tinto from Portugal... and the sushi chef is a machine (beautiful sushi en masse). The atmosphere is great: high ceilings, well lit in the summer, interesting frescoes.

Located in Strandgaten, close to Torgallmenningen. We serve traditional norwegian fish food, as lunch and dinner dishes. We also offer different types of fish burgers. Also fish balls, fish pudding and fishcakes. This is mostly done in same manner since 1
We decided to try the fish cakes as they sounded pretty good from the reviews. Didnât find them very appetising at all, they were rather bland and the texture was unusual. Felt as if I dropped it, it wouldâve bounced! The creamy fish soup was delicious, but once again couldnât eat the chunks of âfishâ that were the same consistency as the fish cakes. Very disappointing as we were looking forward to it.

This ticks all of my boxes. Healthy, delish, hearty and with plenty of options. They do a vegan sandwich and a vegan salad.. But my fave's the green pot (broccoli, spinach...). Pick a base (soup/pot) and then add 2-3 toppings such as mung beans, quinoa and veggies. This is my go to spot in Bergen for sure.
