We took a chance and hopped on the train to Anzio! We walked to the beach and had a lovely afternoon wading in the water, eating gelato and sipping espresso then wandering the little wharf to admire the fishing vessels. The people were extremely kind and worked with us as we spoke just a little Italian. This was well worth the "risk" of traveling into the unknown in a foreign country. I would love to go back with my husband and stay a week and simply hang out.

There were 9 of us for lunch. It took ages. The seafood was very nice but those who ordered streak or chicken didn't like it at all. Service alternated between ignoring us, bringing the wrong food (which they did correct without any problems which is in their favour) and fawning over us near the end. Perhaps for a tip? Won't be returning.

Located on the beach in the middle of the beautiful Gulf of Anzio, from the terraces you can enjoy the view stretching from Circeo to Anzio. The large spaces available and the many car parks nearby (free from September to April ) make it the ideal place f

The simple setting of this restaurant provides little hint of how refined the kitchen is. The antipasto misto was an extraordinary selection of 10 small plate items. It included creative inventions like an exquisite octopus carpaccio with grana and rucola and the restaurant's own wonderful interpretation of classics like arancini di riso and fried, whole, tiny fish ("latterini"). After that, I had an exceptionally good risotto alla pescatora that was seasoned to perfection with just a hint of chili pepper. We washed it all down with a slightly acidic and very characteristic bottle of Donna Paola wine from the region. All in all, iI Grecale is exceptionally tasty, more refined than it first appears (this is a compliment), and an excellent value. The antipasto misto is not to be missed!

I visited this restaurant for a lunch with my parents and I was delighted with both the quality of the food and the friendliness of the service. The choices of the day were listed by the helpful staff. We started with their trademark, the delicious and eclectic antipasti of the house, an array of different creative bites all fish based. The ingredients and creative combinations of the antipasti change over time to present an always somewhat new offer. We ordered a bottle of Vermentino, light and pleasant, that was a very good match with the seafood. After the antipasti, that are quite filling, my parents asked for a first course, risotto with mushroom, zucchini and prawns and maltagliati with seafood amatriciana respectively, while I ordered a sea bass in salt crust, accompanied by cicoria as side dish. My parents were happy with their choice and I was too: the sea bass was tremendously fresh and cooked to perfection. I was way too full for dessert, so I just ordered a lemon sorbet, while my mother had the chocolate and cream tart which was truly delicious (I tried a bite or twoâ¦).Last but not least I found the prices to be quite reasonable given the quality offered. If you are in the neighborhood and love seafood, you canât go wrong by going to La Lampara!

We didn't go for the tasting menu (which did look excellent) since it was lunchtime and had seafood pasta and shrimp, fish roe and squid fettuccine, the squid was cooked to perfection. We had a fantastic local wine recommended by a friendly bandana wearing waiter. It was an ok meal. Renovations are going on outside so theres no clear view of the harbour! Thanks for the visit. Iâm Walter the waiter. Donât understand why you write âNot great seafoodâ you come at 03,15 p.m. without reservation. I find quickly a table for you. Then i proposed different kind Of menu-plates, but you didnât want and choose for two wonderful plate Of tradition well done. And then NOTHING ELSE. So, how can you classified my restaurant withâNo great seafoodâ? People closed to you said:âHow can understand o describe your kitchen with just two pasta plates? Theyâd right!!!! Your article itâs a Real shame, no respect the true and first of all donât respect the workers.

It took us a while to find it but was worth the wait. Not fancy, more like a neighborhood place. We both had steamed mussels, and lasagna and some good wine. For 40 euros total felt it was a good buy. Friendly staff and clean.
