Wide selection of fresh fish, cooked beautifully. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Fish was excellent - all of it and we had a wide selection including selecting our own from their iced display. This isn't were you go for pizza. You go because you want good fish. Also good chocolate cake. Good service. Traditional Italian type of restaurant. Good view across the bay. Very reasonable prices. Limited car parking Visit.

Cute restaurant on the waterfront of tiny fishing village near Acireale. Difficult to find at night with winding dark narrow roads. Eat outside on the water. Food could not be fresher. They show you the fish prior to cooking and charge by the weight. Service not great, they forgot to make one of the dishes for our group of 11. The view and the food make it worth the trip there. Cost of meal with wine was about $40/person. The restaurant was packed on a Wed night with local residents, always a good sign.

It seems you can have any fish as long as it's swordfish but it was good nonetheless. The service was fine and I had my first, excellent glass of Nero d'Avola. Good location and a generally positive attitude to people on their first night in town. A useful restaurant to know just in case you need it.

The Restaurant "La Polena" is located in a privileged geographical position, surrounded by the lush vegetation of the Sicilian gardens, a few steps from the sea of Acitrezza, but almost on a hillside with superb views of Etna. There are many reasons to co
As a local living abroad I never fail to visit La Polena with my family and my wife whenever I'm back. The owner Sebastiano is a great Sicilian chef who has spent time in Japan and has created an awesome menu of Sicilian delicacies infused with oriental touches, making dining at La Polena a delightful culinary experience. Last night we went again for our wedding anniversary and again the staff at La Polena made it a very special one. Special thanks to Sebastiano who took care of our table with very attentive service, surprising us with complimentary prosecco, anniversary cake and a majestic boat of Sicilian sashimi to die for! We will always keep coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to indulge in great Sicilian food and wine at very reasonable price.

We discovered the restaurant by chance wandering around Acireale not really hoping to find anything decent open on a Sunday afternoon, and what a surprise we were in for! This place truly felt like eating Sunday lunch at home with our family, everyone was extremely easy going and friendly. Before eating, we were fortunate to get a quick tour of the celebrity photos of famous people that were there before us and the long tradition that the place boasts. And having now eaten there, I understand why this family run place is still there after 40 years - itâs simple, unpretentious, yet it rises to the touristsâ and localsâ expectations of a delicious Sicilian meal packed with local flavours. We had a couple of fish and seafood dishes, which were delicious, but the vegetables antipasti bar was equally worth a taste! We loved it and will definitely return next time we are in Sicily!
