This is it, amazing simple dishes with fresh local produce made with real care. Someone recommended this restaurant to us and we were not disappointed to the point of coming back two days later. The food was generously served and tasted amazing. In between the 3 of us we must have tried most of the fresh pastas. Tagliatelle with wild boar ragu, pici with mushroom and sausage, gnocchi with gorgonzola... all tasted really good but the gold medal were the tagliolini with fresh truffles...a delight! The meat was also really tasty, perfectly cooked and of very high quality. The house wine might be a tad more expensive than other places but it is an organic wine that unlike most places tasted good. You can tell the owner Carlo is a really passionate cook and a real character. The settings is also very nice and the relaxed attitude of the waiters made us feel at home. I highly recommend this restaurant. 5 stars.

A must go. A MUST!!!!! the food is just superb - all along the years - the pastas are delicate and light (all home made) the antipasti, crisp and fresh. The main courses (meats) are exquisite and different from the usual Tuscan dishes. the deserts are....wow1. Very good house wine and extended Tuscan wine selection. The service is fast and the owner will personally describe the menu to you. If you want to eat more than one meals, Aiuole has rooms....

I enjoy eating at La Tagliola because the large fireplace is so nice, especially after a motorbike ride in the crisp, cold weather of Mount Amiata in early February! The owners are very nice and advice on the daily specialities. With a fellow motorbike rider, we enjoyed the antipasto with ham, bruschetta, crostini and mouthwatering sweet onions. Then we got presented with two small servings of soups, one with mushrooms and the other the traditional ribollita. We also tasted the local ravioli and tagliatelle pastas followed by a small sausage and steak barbecued. The price was very reasonable, just to add to the appeal of this little gem. Make sure you donât miss it!

I Tre Rioni is a restaurant with rooms in the picturesque village of Campiglia D'Orcia. The tables are set with heavy damask and wooden platters bearing the restaurant name; the walls have a decorative 'country' feel , all contributing to a nice atmosphere. We were greeted with complementary toast and lardon, then enjoyed a tasting platter including a variety of delicious meats, cheese, vegetables and toasts. The star dishes of our primi were pasta with garlic and tomato, and spinach and ricotta pasta with cinnamon sauce. For secondi we enjoyed a mediaeval recipe of turkey with chestnuts, seafood pasta and pork chops with side dishes of porcini mushroom, oven baked vegetables and potatoes, spinach and steamed vegetables. For dessert we had lemon sorbet. It was actually very hard to decide what to choose, as there were so many tempting dishes on the menu. The restaurant has deservedly won several awards - long may it continue to do so!

This is a place you just do not want to miss! A skip and a throw from Castel del Piano and on the route to Mount Amiata, you will probably be served some of the best quality fare in the area. Massimo is friendly, knowledgeable and works the tables, his cousin Fabio is busy in the kitchen. Everything is locally sourced and lovingly prepared. Would especially recommend their cold meat antipasto and their fresh pasta. If you realise you have just indulged yourself a bit too much, I would suggest you take advantage of the rooms upstairs... Just the bees knees...

What can I say, where can I start? That is what I've said every visit when the fabulous meals have had the table groaning under their weight.Bring an appetite: servings are indeed generous - an understatement - and a beautiful expression of the food typical to the Amiata region. The produce is fresh, local where possible and makes the most of what the season has to offer (porcini mushrooms and chestnuts in October, local prosciutto and cheeses). There is also a great local wine selection (how could there not be in Southern Tuscany?) and the staff have sound knowledge in the wines themselves. The service itself is perfect; the staff are professional, friendly and warm.I've dined in the restaurant twice, both in autumn and winter, and ambience of the dining room, while spacious and light, is also cosy and I didn't feel like I had to whisper. In winter this would be the perfect place to relax for lunch after a morning of skiing (and working up an appetite to tackle those grand portions!). There is a great view of the ski run, the forest and the summit of Monte Amiata. In summer, this view is just spectacular. Such an unspoilt place! It goes without saying that I will be back.

La Taverna del Pian delle Mura welcomed us with their honest, warm hospitality and bounty of earthly cuisine made with ingredients most of which are biological and sourced from the Monte Amiata region. To start we had the carpaccio of chianina, deliciously tender beef at its best.. then enjoyed an assortment of pasta, such as pici (fat, flatish type of spaghetti from the Siena region) with cherries and prosciutto, tortelli di ricotta al ragù bugiardo (tortelli filled with ricotta and served with a white ragu) (the tortelli was our favourite) and then a succulent oven roasted rabbit stuffed with ham and herbaceous rosemary. As sides we had sauteed dandelion leaves - the bitterness of which is great for digesting the rich food, and the zucchine, which were great qua flavour, but perhaps a bit too over-oiled. We were washing this down with the house wine, excellent for a house: a Rosso Montalcino, a fruitsome (cherry) red with that a nice dusty plum twist of an everyday sangiovese.Although quite satiated, we carried on into desserts, soft almond cakes doused in hand made custard accompanied by an array of self or locally produced liquores, including one made from dogs rose (Rosa canina) or one that we especially liked made from blue Hydrangea petals. I imagine it would be a delight to return in autumn when one can feast on their culinary art using locally procured harvest of porcini and castagne (mushrooms and chestnuts) and to try also the strozzapreti made with chestnut flour, among much else. We will, we shall, we must return!

What should I say about estaurant Anna? I like EVERYTHING about it: friendly atmosphere, cordiality of owners, speed of service, the great Monte Amiata. But above all there is the heart of the success of this restaurant: food is the KING. Every meal is absolutely at highest level.
