We were staying at the Hotel Hvala in Kobarid, and attending Metal Days. Kept driving past this cute restaurant along the road; that also has hotel rooms. We are so glad that we did! The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. As it was a beautiful July afternoon, we opted for outdoor. It was a little overcast with the threat of rain, but there is a large roof over the patio and we were not concerned about the weather; it was still nice out. We were seated promptly and our server was very helpful. We ordered our beverages and food; everything came out at a nice pace. All of our food was absolutely fantastic! We truly enjoyed our meal here. What a great find!

A local recommended this place and we were very pleased. We made reservations and after arriving for the reservation time, found the restaurant empty! The advantages of traveling in the off season. Our meal was prepared to order, served hot and delicious. We were very pleased.Wine sampling was provided and the wine pours generous. We had a wonderful dinner.
Traditional Kobarid dumplings, taste the sweetest served with different toppings in the heart of SoÄa Valley. Each of them is hand made and marked. They combine rich taste of locally grown products and old history.
This is not classical restaurant. It's small stand on the square infront of the church.I've tried this local food many times, but never soooo tasty and good. You have to wait some minutes for strukli to be cooked (they are always fresh prepaired), but when you taste them, you know you could wait much longer :-). The owner is very kind and friendly. They use enviroment friendly cutlery and plates.

Lamb sourced directly from their own eco-farm. We ate lamb cutlets, roast lamb and lamb gnocchi - the sharing platter. Amazing taste and quality. Excellent customer service with friendly and efficient staff. Highly recommended. One of our best meals during our trip to Slovenia.

If we didnt find this place thru Tripadvisor we wouldnt have stop here. From outside it looks more as an below average grill restaurant where they server famous cevapcici dish. The same gos for inside. Everything changes we you begin to eat. Fish is fresh from the ocean or lakes, the same goes for pasta. Food to go to if you are in Kobarid.

I didnât know restaurants still charged for a cover charge (couvert), but you get an appetiser of the house so probably that evens out. As starter I had smoked trout which was very good. The schnitzel as main dish came only with French fries and was not so good. I suppose if you want a salad with your main dish you have to order it separately. And to finish, the local dessert KobariÅ¡jki Å¡truklji was excellent.Service was friendly but slow, while there were not many customers. A bit of mixed feeling as this is one of the more expensive restaurants of Kobarid.Dear sir,we are very happy that you shared your feelings at our restaurant. From the start we see that you don't visit very much restaurant's on this medium + range. The table cover is presented everywhere. Regrading viner schnitzel we need to tell you that here in slovenia it comes served in general only with side dish of potatoes and no salad. But definitely we will check if there was or is any upgrade problem on the local meat etc.For the servis we don't understand what is for you slow and what the right timing. Regarding ou+r price range you write a big mistake so you didn't visit any other places stay pizzerias which are not paragon tumour style and level restaurant.Wishing you a marry Christmas and happy new year.AleÅ¡ HvalaFamily member

As big fans of Hisa Franko we were eager to try this place they recently opened. Great casual (pub) atmosphere with outstanding food. Had starters of: 'English Roast Beef' which is really an excellent take on carpaccio - super tender and excellent; and salad with local cheese. For mains the 'shepards plate' which is definitely worth a try (sharing best) and the local dumplings with lamb ragout - both really excellent. And desert may have been THE best 'Kobariski Strukelj' which are small dumplings filled with walnut 'paste' and covered in brown butter and a bit of brown sugar. They have a great selection of local craft beers as well as wines - many from same makers that Hisa Franko offers. Definitely eat here if you are in Kobarid.

Kobarid, Slovenia is more remote than Mars...but if you are lucky enough to somehow be in this spotlessly perfect country, plan and reserve an evening at Ana's place.Unforgettable. Every bite. One tiny example: the butter they make is dusted with bee pollen and is like nothing I've ever had. Wine was plentiful; great staff.
