De branding is a classic beach pavilion on the beach of Zoutelande. It serves classic eetcafe fare, such as nachos and 12uurtjes. Nothing really special, unox soup and basic bread and croquettes. The nachos have no jalapeños.The view from the veranda is beautiful, but this is also a gathering for dog owners, if youâre allergic stay away.Prices are as expected, this is a Dutch tourist place. All in all a nice experience.

Scandinavian styled small restaurant situated at the foot of the dunes. Friendly service. We ate outside on the terrace well protected from the wind. Inside small but stylish. Restaurant is attached to some holiday homes.

About a quarter of an hour walking from the village of Zoutelande, this beach pavillion is a nice place to have a drink or meal during the day and evening. Located on the shore of the Westerschelde tidal river, you have a great view over the characteristic beach and often windswept water, while huge ships to and from Antwerp pass by now and then. The food is okay as is the staff and the ambiance is what a beach restaurant should be.

Lovely seafood restaurant set near the beach. A beautiful interior coupled with lovely and professional staff serving first class food. The seafood platter was great with a variety of warm and cold mussels, oysters, shrimps... and a fresh half lobster. The croquettes and pork were excellent too.The place does get busy so can get quite noisy.

This place is wonderful. You can just walk up from the beach and if a table is open on the patio it is yours. We were fortunate enough to get a table during dinner time and were thrilled to just sit and relax and enjoy the view overlooking the beach. The staff was great meeting our needs, kept water glasses full and asking if we wanted more beer or wine on a regular basis. the food was delivered hot and in a timely matter. Delicious. We both had different items and both were very pleased. Unlike in the USA, there is no hurry. They do not rush you out so they can fill the table again. So nice and relaxed. And reasonably priced for the quality of food we were served.

Definitely the place to be, excellent food presentation, they go the extra mile to make it into something special and delicious taste. We decided to walk from our accommodation to this restaurant, it is a fair distance out of town center but it was worth every step.

De Babbel is a real family business, Michael and Monique reopened this place since March 2012. Grand-father Bram bakes the best apple-pies to go with your coffee and some other members of the family help where they can. Our cosy 'eetcafé', a dutch name fo
Stopped for a drink at De Babbel twice during our long weekend at Zouteland. It is the last bar/restaurant along the main drag of the town. We chose it because the seating was a little more spacious than the other bars close by, where chairs and tables closely packed together. Being on the corner, it was quite windy. Service was prompt and prices similar to the other bars in the town. We did not eat here, but food looked very good. A nice place to sit and watch the world go by. It tended to get busy around 5pm when holiday makers came off the beach.

We arrived there quite late. The waiting staff was just amazing. They were genuinely friendly and interested in us. They took particular care with my elderly parents. The food was plentiful and nice. The restaurant is nicely located.

Fantastic atmosphere during the "Mosselfeesten", absolute must-go when in Middelburg in the end of July. The "mosselwok" is definitely one of the best mussels I have ever come to eat. Not even mentioning the party afterwards in the evening, where I ended up in the cozy rooms, which are attached to the restaurant. Great brasserie with an edge in one of the buzzing streets of Middelburg!
