The restaurant is not too big and just located in the corner of Beppu station (they have another restaurant near the sea shore of Kitahama). The food is fresh, tastes good and with reasonable price. It is famous especially for the 'tendon'.. tempura rice bowl. I don't think there's any English speaking staff but some menu has pictures..

Chanced upon this place along the small alley near our BnB. The traditional style & non-touristy feel had us try it without hesitance & it turned out we ate one of the best sushi we have ever had! The freshness of the fish, coupled with the generous mouth-filling portion, every bite is heavenly! We went back 2 days in a roll & would have done it everyday had we stay longer in Beppu. Thumbs up!

Not elder friendly as second floor is rather steep. Had to beg fellow customers to give up leaning chair father. Excellent food, but recommend reservation on Tuesday to Saturday since they were out of most by Sunday. Reserve seats for 1st floor if when with elders

The restaurant was very close to the Beppu Station, only a 10-minute walk away.Along the street in front of the train station, there were tens of restaurant, many of them were nearly empty during weekdays. However, Robata Jin was fully-seated every day, right after 17:00, when it opened.I tried several dishes, all of which tasted good. My personal favorite was the skewers: fresh and delicately seasoned.I ordered some sashimi, skewers, tango (a local dish with wider noodles and miso) and a grilled eggplant. The total cost was just 2,730 yen.

I think this is the best place to eat sushi in this prefecture. The fish is cut big size and the Shari( Rice ) is good hardness. My favorite "Neta" are "Salmon" and "Akagai"!! you should try!

Went to Hajime Sushi for dinner and ordered the sushi platter. All I could say is WOW! The seafood is fresh! I guess that explains why the restaurant is packed and even the Japanese made reservations before coming. We were lucky to get seats. ❤️
