I was recommended this place by a few expats living in Yangshuo. The sign is in Chinese, so it can be tricky to find. I uploaded a photo of the front entrance. It is on Guihua Street (walking street near West Street) across the street from the entrance to Xi Jie Foreign Language School. It is the smaller restaurant sandwitched between two larger restaurants (one of which is on the corner of the alley that goes off Guihua Street. It has large menus with pictures hanging up in front (in both Chinese and English).The food was good. I don't eat meat, and they had a decent selection of veggie stuff, including 5 different types of tofu. I asked them to prepare my food without MSG or too much salt and they did a great job of accommodating my request. The service was good. The waitress was friendly and spoke a little English. The food came out fairly fast.The ambience was simple with patio seating and good for people watching. The prices were moderate but fair, with the veggie dishes costing around 20rmb and the meat dishes being more.Overall I enjoyed eating there and would visit again. A number of local expats frequent this place, so that says something to the quality and consistency.

I was skeptical about the fish but it is absolutely delicious. It's cooked in beer and covered in onions and tomatoes. It is wonderful. One of our friends avorite meals during our trip.

After walking around town looking for a quality restaurant to dine for lunch, this little gem beconed us in.The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food is FANTASTIC. The Li River fish cooked in beer on our table in front of us was a rewarding experience. The flavours build as the ingrediants slowly reduce combining the tomatoes, herbs, garlic, onion and ginger into a thickened beer soup just made my day.

Yangshou is know for Beer Fish. I highly recommend you try the beer fish...tasty even for these American taste buds. It's easy to eat and very inexpensive.

We only ordered two dishes : roast chickrn (é¼ç®¡éï¼ and beer swordfish ( å¤é åéï¼ãthe waitress brought us to pick our only swordfish. The taste of the swordfish is much better than the one we tried elsewhere . Not fishy at all. But our favourite dish is the roast chicken . Which is excellent , itâs very juicy and the skin is very crispy . We should have order 2-3 chickens instead so everyone of us can have s whole chicken instead of sharing one .We are happy that we picked here . Love it.

We were staying in the hotel and ended up eating at this restaurant every night, thatâs how nice it is. Whether it was the excellent Chinese food like Fish Beer or Western dishes such as lasagna- all food was of a high quality. It is in a beautiful environment and the service is excellent. Would definitely recommend this place. Dear sheffield_geek,We try to provide a good alternative for our guests for their meals instead of having to go into the town. We have a fantastic team in the kitchen and we great fresh produce daily which raises the quality of our dishes.The location and the setting add to the experience and our staff will try their best to make everyone's experience a nice one.Kind regardsAlf
