Reviews on Seafood food in Wuhan, Hubei, China. Wuhan (simplified Chinese: 武汉; traditional Chinese: 武漢; pinyin: Wǔhàn; [ù.xân] ( listen)) is the capital of Hubei province, People's Republic of China, and is the most populous city in Central China. It lies in the eastern Jianghan Plain on the middle reaches of the Yangtze River at the intersection of the Yangtze and Han rivers. Arising out of the conglomeration of three cities, Wuchang, Hankou, and Hanyang, Wuhan is known as 'China's Thoroughfare' (zh); it is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and expressways passing through the city and connecting to other major cities. Because of its key role in domestic transportation, Wuhan is sometimes referred to as "the Chicago of China" by foreign sources.

We had some very nice spicy meet and vegetables at Shangdu. Quality of food was nice. Staff was nice, as restaurant was almost closed, but still allowed us in. Ambiance certainly very nice, just of course a little special, when entire restaurant is already empty. Less usual in Wuhan to eat around 2pm than in Shanghai/Beijing, where you can almost eat 24 hours
I haven't been there for years, but I still remember that there are good service and environment. There were a waiter serving each table, so it's easy to get considerate services, however I don't know the current situation. As to food, I strongly recommend you to try some sea foods, fresh and tasty. If you are interested in hot pot, you cannot miss some other new style restaurants such as éç³ç宫(Qing Shi Jiu Gong) or æµ·åºæ(Hai Di Lao), which are both popular in Wuhan, and you won't be worried about you clothing or hair will be easily full of the smell of hot pot. Enjoy your meal ;)

You can't go wrong at this location. The menu is extensive and well-organized for an English speaker. Dining locations can include a large room, smaller area, or individual/group rooms. Personnel are very attentive, beginning at door, through your exit out the front door. There is a wine and beverage menu as well. Skip the juices--watery and warm.

Traditional food here in Wuhan, the crayfish simply steamed or spicy are by far the best dish here. Local hairy legged crabs are tasty too but really fiddly to eat( I just can't do it the Chinese way of cracking them open with your teeth or using disposable plastic gloves either as they give you no grip on the slippery crab. Still the meal was good and fresh even if the VIP room was too small for our needs we had fun.

This is the lobby restaurant at the InterContinental hotel Wuhan. It advertises as "east meets west," but that just means they have both Chinese and western (hamburger, steak, chicken) dishes. They serve a buffet at breakfast, brunch. lunch, and dinner, and have an a la carte menu for lunch and dinner. The menu is also the hotel's room service menu. Some evenings there is a lounge singer who does English and French. The service is pretty good, but English skills vary. There is a limited bar and wine menu (no actual bar, as far as I can tell), and special instructions ("no olives" or "neat") are met with blank expressions. The breakfast buffet is very good, with a huge selection of Chinese and western dishes. Lunch and dinner are less inspiring. In my case, the martini did not appear to contain alcohol, the Italian salad dressing turned out to be balsamic, and my medium rare steak varied from well done to medium well (but the meat quality was quite good). In short, it's OK but not exciting. It was very quiet when I was there, so service is very quick and I was in and out in no time, but I wasn't rushed.Dear Fe_Flyer.Thank you for your recognition of the hotel. At the same time, thank you for your careful evaluation of the restaurant. I am glad to learn that you have obtained a satisfactory dining experience in our restaurant. We will continue to maintain the most professional service attitude and strive to provide you with satisfactory delicious food.
