Fresh local and sustainable seafood in our restaurant on the Esplanade at Weymouth - and right by the sandy beach and sweeping bay. Relaxed and stylish but there's theatre and buzz at Rockfish, a restaurant who understands sustainability and are committed
On a stroll along the sea, we met a man walking his dog and chatted a bit. I asked if he lived there and he said yes and so I asked him what the best restaurant for fish was. Without hesitating, he said Rockfish. He was right. The menu is on the tablecloth and lists about ten fish to choose from. The waiter marks the ones that are fresh that morning. We chose the John Dory and red Mulletâ¦..delish! You are presented with the whole fish, which you have to debone, and that made me apprehensive, but it wasn't a problem. The space is bright, light and cheerful and the servers seem so happy to be there. Itâs apparently a chain, which I usually avoid, but not in this case! Wish we could go back.

This is a wonderfully located seafood restaurant with lovely views out onto the quayside. On a quiet, rainy Tuesday night the restaurant was very quiet but that did not dampen our enjoyment of the high quality food on offer. Our starters were excellent. The calamari was light and tender with an extremely tasty garlic mayonnaise whilst the mussels were fresh and positively unctuous! The main did not drop below the high standard of the starters. The scallops were deliciously cooked with a light chorizo-based broth served in scallop shells. Beautifully done!

Final meal in the U.K. has just has to be Fish and Chips. Excellent fresh, moist fish with the just the right amount of batter. Chips were perfect, just crisp on the outside.

Oh yes people...we finally have a fish and chip shop worth its weight in gold in this country!!Look...chips are easy to do so I won't bore you about them (apart from the fact they are good). Its fish that has time after time let me down in this country. Ranging from something with the flavour of deep fried sea water to, if this is even possible, something even worse than deep fried sea water but with even less flavour than deep fried sea water!! However for the first time EVER in the history of eating fish and chips in this country the fish was worth its weight in deep friend gold!!! It had flavour! OMG...what a revelation!! Fish with flavour served at a British chippy!!! Absolutely unbelievable!!Not only was the cod emotionally beautiful...it was also the size of a small boat! The large is exactly that...LAAAAAARGE!!! The medium fish was only just slightly smaller and would do for most normal humans! The premises were also large, airy and clean and the staff were lovely. The simple fact is I'd very happily travel back to Weymouth just to have the fish and chips from this shop!![COMPLETELY UNRELATED]But here is the thing about fish and chips in this country (which is true regardless of where you are ordering your deep fried sea water from); They will happily batter every chocolate bar known to mankind BUT the moment you ask if they do battered mussles or scollops or oysters etc they look at you as if they suddenly lost the ability to speak English and a small child starts crying in the corner asking daddy to make the mean man stop it!WOW!!!! I don't even know where to start with what is officially the BEST review we have ever had. I loved every word of it. I am still picturing your deep fired seawater, that really made me smile. You have a special way with words and humour thank you and I hope we'll see you again soon at a very happy Fish 'n' Fritz.Kind regards.Paul

This was our third visit to the Crab House and we would definitely recommend and go again. The experience of smashing and picking our own crab is great and the location is rustic and relaxed. Even at lunchtimes off season it is busy, so best to book in advance. The only reason not to give 5* this time is that we felt the 28% price increase (11.25 to 14.50) for the half crab since six months ago was quite steep - and the menu online is still not updated. Other prices also seemed much higher. Oysters were excellent. Would also be good to see vegan dessert other than sorbet. Service was friendly and very good.

Al Molo brings Italian cuisine from the Emilia Romagna region - voted by Forbes magazine as Italy's greatest gastronomic treasure - together with a modern style. Chef Giuseppe Vannucci combines his origins in traditional Italian cooking with his training
We recently dinned at Al Molo with a small group of friends when visiting Weymouth . I absolutely loved the Art Deco interior which was very much in keeping with the pier bandstand building . We were taken to our professionally laid table but did have a feeling that the staff were a little on edge as we were a group ! However, I do hope, that even though we were laughing and enjoying ourselves we were well behaved . The food was beautifully cooked in true Italian fine dining style and staff were experienced and patient with us . Having read a few of your reviews I think that those that donât understand true Italian food or fine dining should just stick to Pizza Hut or the likes . My only small niggle it that I could have managed a little more than 4 pieces of ravioli! However, if I visit again I will ensure I have a starter . It was a pleasure hosting you and your party on your recent visit to us.Lovely to have, such a kind and complimentary review, thank you.Thank you for your comments and feedback. We will look at how we talk dinners through our menu.We look forward to seeing you again soon.Giuseppe & Tim

We stopped in Weymouth on the boat for a few days and our daughter Charlie and her partner Pete came down on the train to join us for a few days. They wanted to go to a fish restaurant that evening and upon searching we found Seabeats. The owner/chef made room for us and we weren't disappointed. The fish choices were just lovely, the Calamari really good and the Seafood Platter, despite it costing £32, was a fabulous spread and such plentiful portions. The Seafood Platter really is excellent value. The waiter looked after us, great service and attentive. Overall it cost £150 for 4 people, including 2 Seafood Platters, starters and mains for all of us, two bottles of white wine and a couple of beers.

In our restaurant Les Enfants Terribles, we like to think that, as soon you open the door you are entering our house, and from there we will always try our very best to make you feel at home... The kitchen is open plan, and Chef Eric is always on hand if
Really impressed. Great food, personally cooked. Celebrated an anniversary dinner there and not disappointed - other than the large group of (I think) sailing enthusiasts who were exceptionally noisy. Hardly the restaurant's fault. Eric, the Chef-Proprietor- was attentive and helpful. We will certainly return.
