Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Vela Luka. Vela Luka (pronounced [ʋela luka] ( listen)) (Italian: Vallegrande) is a small town and a municipality in Dubrovnik-Neretva County in southern Dalmatia, Croatia. The town is located on the western side of the island of Korčula at the bottom of a wide bay which has many indented coves. Vela Luka developed at the beginning of the 19th century in a deep sheltered bay. Its name means "big harbour" in Croatian chakavian. Inhabitants of the Island of Korčula and Pelješac often refer to it simply as "Luka" (the port/harbour). Also the town has other smaller industrial plants.

Enjoy true Korcula atmosphere with good homemade specialities and best wines from the island and local area.
We visited Croatia for 15 days (from Zagreb to Dubrovnik). Radiona was, by far, the best dining experience of our trip. We prefer to eat at local places which are not necessarily fancy or expensive. This restaurant specializes on local food and ingredients, at reasonable prices. Radiona is by the water, in a marina, right on the promenade. It is also located just outside of the Old Town, away from the hustle and bustle, while still being in town. The food here is amazing. I LOVED their tuna tartare. One of the cheeses they serve as an appetizer is a telaggio - which was delicious. We also had the octopus and local fish. Our server, Nicolina, was very attentive and explained all the dishes we ordered.Would definitely visit this restaurant next time we're in KorÄula!

Reservation recommended. Service begins at 7:00. To get the perfect table by the water arrive before 7:00. Marco my waiter was very helpful with the wine selection. Begin with complimentary starter (chefs choice.) . Sea bass was perfect. Kiridzija (2017 Dignac full bodied red wine local to Korcula) was excellent. Enjoy!

Ate here after seeing the reviews and it didnât disappoint.....fried cheese was superb and stuffed squid very tasty....also the fresh grilled fish was the best so far in Croatia. Service was excellent and friendly - considering it was busy. Situated in one of the sweet stepped alleyways that characterize this town. Going back again and I know what Iâm having....fried cheese and one of their steaks I saw going out a couple of days ago!Dear Guest,We are very glad that you have recognized our effort, desire and knowledge. Thank You for taking your time to write such a good comment, we appreciate it very much.Konoba Marco Polo team

CLOSED FOR WINTER. Delicious food made from fresh, local ingredients. Vegetarian-friendly; vegetables and fish are the base of the menu, along with traditional pasta - makaruni and homemade bread. Excellent local wines are also important part of our story
We were not able to book this restaurant, but we were lucky to still be accommodated. What a great find this restaurant was! Amazing fish/seafood and paste and an awesome selection of wines. The cherry on the top is its atmospheric location.

I ate hear on a "Taste of Korcula" tour with Korcula Explorer and I can really see why they take people here. Every mouthful of every dish we got to try was fantastic. Octopus salad, Local pasta with meat sauce, calamari, cuttlefish and a few more. Also there home made wine was just right. Will be going back.

Konoba Maslina has been working for several years, always taking care about their guests wishes & comfort. Itâs domestic atmosphere helps You to slow down and relax in these fast times, while eating many of our domestic meals which has our busy chefs glad
A huge mixed grill was ok, and the starter of dates in ham (what we might call kilted camels) very good. Main plus points were much more reasonable prices than other venues in town, good service from charming staff, and the on "street" location of our table. Very atmospheric.

An optional excursion as part of our Croatia tour. Loved the home-grown figs and hearing about the family's experiences leading up to the establishment of this place. Our meal was rather disappointing though. Grilled eggplant, salad and bread were great, but the potatoes were far too salty for us (and we love our potatoes!) maybe give diners the option of adding their own salt, if needed? The veggie soup was very runny (not much evidence of vegetables!) and very peppery. Our tuna steak was ok, but definitely not rare, as requested. We still enjoyed our evening though, as our group was great and the unlimited wine and beer was very good. Loved the fig stuffed with almond and coated in dark chocolate but only one per person! Recommended.HalloMy dear lady it was nice to have you in my restorant . First of all when you have menu choices the meat menu have meat soup a d the fish menu have fish soup . Our vegetable Cream soup is home Made vegetableSoup and we dont put pepr inside of the soup becouse we put lots of vegetables and the strong taÅ¡te is becouse of home Made eggplant and you could not see the vegetables becouse it is mixed ( Cream ) soup . Also you have 2 drinks per person but you did drink unlimited Like you did write ? Why then you didnât ask for more Chocolate figs ? Why you didnât ask me to change your soup ? I was not expecting much, seeing that it looks like a small cafe and not a full-on restaurant. Furthermore, we arrived in low-season, and the many of the restaurants were either closed or not selling anymore food.We were the only customers when we arrived, and the chef was sitting at the outside seating area having a drink. When we asked if food is available, he proceeded to explain what ingredients he has left, and what he can cook up for us.We took several of his suggestions - -Carbonora macaroni-Seafood risotto-Chicken Salad-CalamariAnd i will not hesitate to say that his meal was one of the best we have had in Croatia so far. We just couldn't believe our luck! Before leaving, he asked us to leave a review on Tripadvisor for him, but i would have done so in any case. The price was more than affordable, and we were so glad that we chanced upon this inconspicuous gem!

A single waiter served everyone with great expertise. He explained the specials, knew the food inside out, made friendly conversation and all without leaving anyone waiting for a second longer than necessary. The food was exceptional - tasty and inventive. My husband had seafood cooked in a paper bag tied with string. The chef can really cook and focuses on whatâs been landed or is seasonal. We had the house wine which was also very good. We werenât going to bother with pudding but we were asked to âhold on, while I bring you somethingâ - it turned out to be a piece of chocolate cake - light & moist - topped with ganache and homemade crystallised orange peel. No extra charge was made for this and the overall bill was extremely reasonable We enjoyed the whole experience so much weâre going back tonight so thatâs the biggest recommendation you can give.
