Canada's largest metropolis, Vancouver is a city of varied landscapes and diverse population. Its mix of the scenic and urban mean that weekenders can spend the morning taking advantage of its beaches, ski mountains, and hiking trails, only to kick back in the evening at first-rate restaurants and wine bars among a labyrinth of skyscrapers. As friendly and welcoming as it is ethnically diverse, the streets are crowded with different languages being spoken everywhere, and the city's sights, sounds, and flavors are a hodgepodge of warm multiculturalism. It is a haven both for the urbanite and the sportsman, offering all the sophistication of a modern city center, with a strong focus on the arts and a burgeoning cafe culture, but with charming suburban outlets and easy outdoor day trips. Take your time and explore as many of them as possible.

My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful seafood lunch on their rooftop patio. I had the salmon, which was fresh and delicious. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Vancouver!

Feeling a little gun-shy after a visit to Santa Monica, where two salads and half a banana cream pie cost 100$ for lunch......but what a surprise, here. This restaurant is counted among the best in Canada and rightly deserves it. We ate pure bliss: oysters with interesting sauces, including the traditional mignonette and shaved horseradish, an heirloom tomato salad to die for, the perfect charred octopus salad and scallops on a millet risotto. Barely enough room for our dessert named âPeachâ, which include all sorts of delicates peach creations. Half a litre of fine French Chablis and we hadnât even cracked 300$ for two! Well doneOne caveat....the restaurant is noisy but thatâs the Vancouver tradition, Unfortunately. :(

I really don't know what everyone is talking about with this place. It really isn't up to fine standards. It took 10 minutes for anyone to greet us and take a drink order. The pain was just starting. The oysters were inedible. I am amazed as they are local but tasted like a septic tank. We sent them back and got equally inedible replacements. The saving grace was the sushi which was decent. The wine was poured in tiny glases. You are much better off getting a bottle. The rest of the meal was poor to average . The ambiance was great as was the location but poor service and food don't make up for it. If you are looking for an outdoor seafood restaurant with a good raw bar look elsewhere.Dear valued guest,Thank you so much for taking the time to review Ancora. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not live up to your expectations. The oysters has been a great hit among our patrons so your feedback will certainly be passed along to the chefs and their team to ensure that the dishes are being made with consistency. We will also follow up with the servers in regards to the wine. If given the opportunity we would love to host you again soon and give you the amazing experience that we are so proud to offer here at Ancora.Again, thank you for your feedback and if you have any other further questions, comments or concerns, please feel to contact us at [email protected] Sincerely,Kelly Jordan HamiltonSales and Marketing Manager

Our last evening in Vancouver required a good place to eat and we were recommended this place by a hotel employee and we were glad that he did. Super atmosphere, excellent food, super efficient service with friendly waiters. Add to this a manager who we hit it off with big time (Irish of course) and you have a brilliant evenig out at a reasonable price.Ouronly regret was that we found it too late to go back again.

A proper lunch in a proper setting can brighten even the most dreary afternoon. Vancouver BC supplied the chilly and wet weather. The Teahouse in Stanley Park made all of us forget about it. Inside, a soup with a salad proved the perfect antidote to Mother Natureâs inclement escapades outside. My friends and I added a nice, light white wine to our meal to help keep our insides warm. Also, they actually have a gazebo where you can dine, have tea and dream of nicer weather.

A Yaletown icon for 15+ years, Brix Restaurant has said goodbye to its downstairs cocktail lounge, George, and brought the newly renovated space together with Brix under one roof and one new name - Brix & Mortar. With the new concept comes a refreshed foo
Within walking distance from our AirBnB on Burrard St., we strolled down to Brix & Mortar for our final dinner in the City. I had mussels to start, while my wife ordered the beet salad. We also had an order of bread - soft and delicious, but a crusty bread with the mussels would have been appreceiated. Both were very good, although the mussells had even more garlic than anticipated. She then ordered the salmon (sauce on the side - wise choice as it was also over garlicy), while I ordered the smoked mushroom pasta. The star of her dish were the roasted artichokes and mine were definitely the smoked mushrooms. Mine, however was also quite full of garlic. The only critique I would offer is the over-dependence upon garlic.

We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly to sushi enhances the natural flavours and textures of the fish, creating a new and exciting culinary experience. Miku own
We had a wonderful and most delicious lunch unfortunately the round face Asian girl who kept clearing our table disappointed us. Why must she remove every item immediately disturbing our lunch. Most annoying was she cleared my husbands dish even before he put his chopsticks down. Then she stood beside me hoping to remove my plate as I was just picking my last piece of sushi. I had to tell her to stop, but she still cleared and wipe the table while I was still eating. We both found this most annoying and we brought the rating down 2 notches. Looks like she was a server in a wanton shop before joining Miku. Can some one teach her proper service as when to take away the dishes..
