The Poissonnerie Moulinet is designed for serious seafood lovers only. Fresh seafood market on the ground floor and 2 floors of seafood restaurant above. They were kind enough to let my wife and I in when they opened at 7:00 even though all tables were reserved. Just about all of the 30 or so people who fit on the Second floor ordered 1 of the 5 or so mixed steamed seafood platters. I ordered the â¬25 size the second smallest. My wife helped and we had to work hard to finish it. We also split a seafood soup which I thought only ok. Broth not very interesting, light on seafood. The steamed platter was served on its own leaving the fresh seafood to shine. Which it did magnificently. There was lemon slices and a mustard mayonnaise for flavoring if desired. My plate included 4 oysters, many of three kinds of shrimp, a pile of snails, 5 or 6 small welk, half a huge Dungeness crab, several small clams. We split a good muscadet wine and enjoyed a very pleasurable meal.

What can one say? Great sea-food, well prepared and delicious, served with pride by extremely obliging and helpful staff. Eating here in such lovely surroundings is a joy. I hope to return.

Unfortunately we had dined the night before in another superb local restaurant so this was always going to have a difficult comparison. The sole which I had was good and very reasonably priced, and on the whole the food was good, but service rather slow, and they could just generally make a bit more effort.

Fantastic small restaurant specialising in fish and overlooking the water.Very warm welcome welcome from a lovely 'waitress' speaking superb English, far better than our somewhat limited French. The menu was extensive, and included lobster, the dish of the day was prawns cooked in pastis.Three of us had fish soup, truly good, one had a goats cheese salad. (Be warned the servings are large!) then three of us had mussels cooked according to our choice, and one had sea bass....very very good indeed. Two had some desert swimming in rum which they thought was absolutely fantastic. Of course, all accompanied by the house red. A truly wonderful meal, in a happy welcoming atmosphere well worth a visit, but be warned, this is a small bistro, and you need to book. Congratulations to the chef, and a very big thank you to the lovely girl who served us, she was efficient, funny, and really good fun.
