Called in on our way back to the ferry, hungry but with not much time to spare. Food was served very promptly, cooked fresh and very tasty. The restaurant has a lovely outdoor seating area with views over the sea. We spoke with two members of staff, both were friendly and helpful. We would definitely eat here again.

une soirée entre amis ou à deux, ou alors une petite restauration après un bain de mer, c'est une "escale" agréable ...attention cependant à la qualité qui doit rester impeccable !!!

We've been visiting Cherbourg for many years and passed by this place. Gave it a go for lunch and were really impressed. Pleasant staff, light and airy, lovely food. The smoked salmon starter and moules frites were are meal in themselves. Great menu and all fresh. We will return sans doubt. They deserve to be busier, and maybe need to rethink the generous portion size. But...loved it. Hope they make out!

This nicely decorated and laid out restaurant offers pleasant views over the Cherboug inner harbour. Sadly that's where the good parts stop.The calamari and prawn starter was quite good, showing promise but the steak main dissapointing. A little dry, definately chewy, just a drizzle of pepper sauce and undercooked potatoes.Things looked up with dessert, which was good and nicely presented. But by then the damage was done. I just wanted to leave.As others have commented, very slow service, despite being half empty. But pleasant enough.The price seemed good at â¬23 for 3 courses, but on reflection did not seem good value as the food was just ok, rather good.The wine was quite expensive, more than the food! But was palatable. My search for a good place to eat in Cherbourg continues....

I called in here for a quick lunch. My haddock with fresh pasta had a delicious sauce with it. A good piece of Tome de Bordeaux finished my meal off nicely. It isn't a cheese I've had before but I'll try to find it again. It has a lovely herby outer.Good value, good food.

I went to La Cité de la Mer to look at the great attractions. Before I started going round the attractions a spot of lunch was needed. There are two places to eat Le Quai des Mers and Le Ruben Bleu. I went to Le Quai des Mers with is an A La Carte restaurant which triumphs with seafood. First got there and were seated within minutes. Drinks ordered and a browse of the menu followed. I ordered from the A La Carte menu which was a three course meal for about â¬20. I ordered to start Duo de bulots et crevettes roses, mayonnaise citronnée. It was really nice, the whelks were interesting but tasty and the prawns were really fresh and tender. Then for my main course I ordered Choucroute océane which is salmon, haddock, plaice and prawns on a bed of Sauerkraut in a cream sauce with vegetables. It was well cooked and had amazing a taste. I then finished with Sorbet pomme arrosé de Calvados. It was a fresh apple sorbet covered in Calvados the waiter was very generous with Calvados so be aware.All in all a great menu. The restaurant is situated next to the Port in Le Berquet which is a very easy drive from Cherbourg with easy parking.The restaurant was exceptionally clean and well presented. Staff were welcoming and the menu had a wide range of dishes at reasonable prices. There were 6 of us and main courses included brochette de boeuf,,marmite de poissons, fish and chips(superb) and beef burgers(huge). All dishes were well presented and enjoyed by all.Thoroughly recommended.

We enjoyed our meal very much. Heavenly baked oysters, trio of fish and a Chocolat desert. Slightly hushed atmosphere and dated 80s/90s interior (think Holiday Inn breakfast restaurant in that era) but it really didn't matter. Friendly service and, as mentioned, delicious food.
