Had dinner here with business partners during a recent business trip to St Gallen on recommendation of the company we were visiting. The food was absolutely fantastic, the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. One person had beef, I had shrimp and scallops with rice, and my other companion had the Tuna steak with veggies. everything was great. They have a large selection of wine and liquor too. We started with a variety of tapas which were also wonderful. Overall it was a wonderful experience and the location was right around the corner from our hotel.

Gehobenes italienisches Restaurant
Recommended by the hotel (Sorell) we enjoyed an excellent dinner in a very cozy, busy and plenty of energy place.Very friendly, multilingual and fast staff. Food was delicious, good wine list and reasonable price. Maybe because it was packed, we found it a bit too noisy. Seems to be a very popular place in St.Gallen.

This one is special. Itâs quite small, opens only two days a week and has a bathtub in the restroom. Add the rather improvised decoration, and from the moment you are welcomed by the incredible warm and friendly staff, you feel like you were invited in a private home for dinner. The menu is small and everything on it is subject to availability of the fresh ingredients. Surprisingly, this is not one of those Italian places that stick to the basics but do them extremely well, this place doesnât bother with serving the basics (mostly). Instead they offer seafood, steak and highly imaginative vegetarian options (try the homemade tortelloni with gorgonzola-chicory stuffing and chanterelles). Long story short: the food is outstanding. This being Switzerland, the restaurant might not be exactly cheap by international standards. But considering the quality of the ingredients as well as the heart, soul and skill with which the food is prepared, you would be hard pressed to find better value for money in the region.Oh, and donât forget the book a table: Itâs small, popular and more often closed than not ;)

Just like 90% of Italian restaurants outside Italy, this place would close in 3 months if located anywhere in Italy.I tried a vegetarian pizza and I found on it quite a few things that I've honestly never seen on an authentic Italian pizza, like broccoli and spinach, while none of the regular veggie items where present (onions, peppers, eggplants). Also, I'd be curious to know what kind of yeast has been used to get a pasta so little leavened. My colleague went for some kind of factory-made tortelli which were swimming in a super-liquid panna. He didn't complain though. But luckily I found something really Italian: when some friends of the owner arrived for dinner (around 15 minutes later than me), they got the best table and received their pizza right away, while I was still waiting for mine.I won't talk about the price: my pay is in Euros so I'm a bit sensitive about this topic. No wifi available, just in case.Dear Redflix,Thank you for your review about our Ristorante. First of all we want to apologize wholeheartedly to you for this unsatisfactory visit to La Pergola. We have been a successful business for over 30 years now and have a broad and loyal customer base. We are proud of how many satisfied customers we serve in our Ristorante every day. While we take your review seriously and will use it for further improvements of our restaurant, we also want to point out that, especially when it comes to food, there are just so many different tastes. Case in point is our vegetarian pizza here. There is no standard recipe for a vegetarian pizza. We make it based on the season and availability of the vegetables and that is why it can be different from what you know as vegetarian pizza. Also there are different styles of how to make a pizza. Our pizza is based on the roman pizza style and not what you refer to as an unleavened pizza dough. All of our doughs ferment for 24 hours before they are ready to be used. Having said that, we hope you will have a better time on your next visit to our Ristorante La Pergola.Tanti cari saluti,Roberto Cavaliere

They have a solid Italian cuisine. For lunch they offer to choose between 4-5 daily menue for a very reasonable price of around CHF 20.- inclusive precourse salad, main dish, 3dl drinks and a coffee. the quality is always good. the waiters very friendly and fast! The only negative point is the venue is quite small and your clothing tastes like Pizza after you leave. But nevertheless a great place where we always like to come and have lunch.
