A disclaimer to begin with - I am largely vegetarian, so it is always a bit of an challenge to visit a meat and seafood driven restaurant. I've got no problems with others enjoying these thing, but I live in hope that I can find something even vaguely interesting on the menu that I can enjoy too. Sadly, I struggled here, hence the relatively low rating.I was here with my in-laws, who really like the place. Service was prompt and friendly on arrival. Decor is a bit dark for my personal tastes. There's some interesting wine racks made out of railway spikes!Complimentary sopaipillas were really nice and the pebre wasn't too bad either. I prefer mine with a bit more tomato, but the variability is what makes it interesting to me anyway.Given the distinct lack of vego options (I refuse to order another "ensalada surtida" comprising primarily tinned vegies), I thought I'd get inventive and try for something not exactly on the menu - pulpo al pil pil, a lo pobre. The octopus was part of an entre, and "a lo pobre" was an accompaniment. To their credit, my strange request was met with a "No problem. We can do that.", and even better, the pulpo al pil pil was really nice. The "a lo pobre" was a bit so-so for my taste. I prefer my onions a bit more caramelised and the chips a little more crispy. My in-laws really enjoyed their meals - corvina and herizos. My partners lomo liso was far bigger and thicker than she was expecting, and somewhat less well done than she asked for.Service fell away once we got our meals.

I ordered a seafood casserole since as suggested by my hotel receptionist. Perhaps I came too early for such heavy meal in the early afternoon, the whole thing was a disappointment, the soup was salty and all the content of seafood was overcooked or what. The clams, shrimp and mussels were just like chewing rubber, I could not tear the stuff to pieces. I told the waiter, he seemed he did not care to tell the boss or the cook. Since it was not above standard level of service, they put service charge automatically.

After a full day of work we stopped here for dinner and did not regret. The triple shrimp appetizer is awesome: ceviche, hot, and deep fried. I had the tuna salad while my business colleague had a congrio soup. We were both delighted. The service is impeccable: Ricardo was attentive and responsive, while being kind. We will return!
