Well, they aren't the best Chippy in Studley. Go to Studley Fish Bar on the High street just up the hill, and the fish is always massive, and well cooked, More pricey, but then they have better sized fish.Having said that, Fred's can be good in a different way.Fred;s. Love Fred himself, and his wife is down to earth, says it how it is, common as muck salt of the earth. But their fryers can't seem to be consistent! One day I will go there and have pie and chips and the chips will be lush, slightly soggy and soft as I like them. Then I will have fish and it will be overcrisp and swimming in oil and the chips will be hard and sharp. It just depends on the day. They do have some fantastic lunch combo's for around £3/4, so they are good value for money if you catch them damn machines on a good day. I'll keep going back. Fred has got really sexy hairy forearms, mind you, so has his wife...

Our local family run fish and chip shop/Bar that serves brilliant fish and chips etc.We have tried the rest and this in my families opinion is always consistently good with piping hot food,crisp batter and decent quality fish .Children's box is good value with a meal,drink and sweet treat and kebabs,chicken and pies plus are all served by friendly staff.

First visit here and will be the last. Waited over half an hour for service and when I asked how long the wait was likely to be was told I should have ordered on their App, explained I didnât have this was told that I should have ordered via this. The so called âManagerâ then stepped in and was incredibly rude to me and another lady next to me who was also concerned with the length of wait arrogantly pointing out â what do you know about running a fish and chip shops this is a very successful businessâ Well , youâve lost my custom, the rudeness was shocking. I have never come across such an arrogant rude individual. WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDHi there First of all let me state that in your Facebook post you mentioned you waited 25 mins and in this post you stated you waited over 30 mins?Weâve checked on the cctv that you actually waited 17 mins,which as you can see weâre a very busy fish and chip shop and on a Friday weâre exceptionally busy so we feel your 17 min wait for the freshest fish and chips we can possibly provide is more than justified.The click and collect system is put in place so customers can order and pay online hence the reason they just come in and pick there food up .This eases the queue as it would be more people in the queue and more time doing the transaction at the till.You asked if I was the manager I said no Iâm the owner and itâs my family business ,youâve yet again stated that you spoke to the manager .You also said that there should be a dedicated person doing click and collects well your correct ,as there is and always has been .Our staff out there heart and sole into what they do and we love our job and our customers hence the reason why weâre so busy .You canât into our shop and started being very rude and raising your voice in front of other customers which when you left they could not believe the way you spoke to us .We said you were raising your voice and being very rude so if you could not shout then we would appreciate it ,but no you continued to shout so we asked you to leave and you refused .Please feel free anytime to pass by to look at the cctv with us and see the times you were waiting and see how rude you actually were .Hope this helps and I hope you benefit from this experience .

I have recently experienced the "Summer Picnic Bench" and all I can say is WOW! Its absolutely delicious and such a show stopper!I visited Oscars with 5 of my friends so we had 3 of the picnic bench's between us which was more than enough! We had booked a table in the Restaurant but on the day we visited it was a beautiful sunny day so we asked to sit outside on the terrace overlooking the stunning grounds and the staff were more than accommodating. We finished off our afternoon tea and then sat and enjoyed the sun with a few glasses of prosecco...bliss!I've been previously and experienced the normal "Picnic Bench Afternoon Tea" which is amazing so will definitely be returning again very soon!Dear BluebellWestMidlands,Thank you so much for the 5 star review! Found myself in Alcester and appetite knawing away at stomach. Found this place next to Waitrose. Always dubious if never visited a chip shop before. Had cardboard fish, wooden chips, you name it.Thia place is none of that! Really lovely friendly staff. Chips absolutely lovely, straight out of the fryer. Crisp and delicious. The piece of cod was BIG and juicy, best I've ever had. Better that Whitby. Covered in a thin crisp batter, no slimy uncooked batter next to fish, as is served up in some shops. Even though I live ten miles away I will definitely be back for more. I would have paid twice the price for this Michelin standard treat! Plenty of parking and a seat to sit on outside Waitrose. Very Well Done.
