Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Stavanger. With about 120,000 people, Stavanger is Norway’s fourth-largest city and a fascinating mix of old and new. Its history stretches back deep into the Middle Ages. Stavanger was once a tranquil coastal market town and then later an important fishing port. But it was the 1969 discovery of oil offshore that forever changed the now bustling city’s fortunes and landscape. Don’t miss the well-preserved old town (Gamle Stavanger), the unique Canning Museum or the 12th-century Stavanger Cathedral.

Had a solo lunch there in June. Service was erratic but leaning towards the better. Restaurant was full which might explain. Fish soup was really god whereas the salmon was dry and without any particular taste. Overall ok but would not go back. Lots of alternatives in the areas.

Our food is authentic Chinese, locally produced (Prima Jæren for pork and beef) and crosses various styles: fusion. We draw inspiration for our menu from both Norway and the Far East; home-cooking and fine-dining; tradition and innovation. Also: local bee
This is the best Chinese restaurant in stavanger. If you have a child, once they are finished eating they will ask the parents if they could give some fish food to feed the koi fish inside the restaurant. Kids loves it. There crispy duck, spring roll and Beijing soup are all delicious. And good quality of rice. Plus the service is so friendly. We will come back here.

Went here with my 2 kids on Sunday afternoon and it was pleasant. Waitress was friendly, service and atmosphere were nice and food was very good quality. Prices were not as steep as some Pizza chains in Norway and the menu gives you a lot more options then Pizza. Great selection of Pasta and Pizza. Me and the boys loved it.

After waiting 7 months, we finally got to visit Sabi Omakase! I have really been looking forward to this and the visit really lived up to our expectations. When entering you are met by the sommelier, which welcomes you with a drink. After this, the dinner menu is introduced by Roger Asakil Joya. He gladly answers questions and you can easily see that he has a great passion for the art of sushi. After this, the whole evening is spent at the bar counter while he is making the food and explaining each ingredient which is mainly local. We also went with the wine package which is carefully selected by the sommelier. He gives a great introduction often with small anecdotes about the wines. This is a great experience which I would really recommend if you have an interest for food and especially sushi. Me and my girlfriend went together with a couple we know. I would recommend to go with a group of friends as part of the experience for me was to be able to discuss and enjoy the food in a friendly setting.

We thought the Fisketorget restaurant might be a tourist trap, because it is located so close to where cruise ships dock. But, we were wrong. Granted it was crowded, even at lunch. We were lucky to get a table, without a reservation, at 1:00 pm. I ordered the mussels in curry, which were good. My husband, though, had the most outstanding fish soup he has ever had. It was full of chunks of fish in a brothy, creamy base. The herbs and seasoning were divine. When we asked the waitress what it contained, she declined to tell us because it was a secret recipe. All I can say is that if you are ever in Stavenger, be sure to stop at Fisketorget for an unforgettable soup.
