Opening June 21st at 11am. BYOB. Eat-in or Take-out. Outside seating, inside seating. Come and see us for our famous oh boy dough boy!
Homemade bread. Fresh seafood. Some good homemade cheesy casserole dishes. Stuffed fish with crabmeat yummy. Salad good mix of baby greens. Little pricey $20 - $25, but food was excellent. Downside is that when tide is out not as pretty and the marsh is a little smelly. Nothing bad or worse than anywhere else at low tide but in case you aren't used to. Service was great. Located in pretty fishing village.

The Seafood Ketch was recommended to us by a local who grew up on MDI. Indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit inside as we had been hiking all day. The Maine scallop dinners (both broiled and fried) were delicious and good size portions. For apps, the onion soup was rich and warming, as was the bisque. Don't pass up the freshly made bread! There is a nice beer and wine selection and the blueberry beer was really good. No need to dress up this is a casual place. Our servers were very friendly.

Won't return. It is at the west side of the Mount Desert Island, which is far less popular than their east side Bar Harbor. Their Main Street is short, sweet and one way only. The restaurant is at the namesake inn, which opens May to October only. Unfortunately it's a little windy and cold, they closed the deck. Our table is by the window. The view of NE Harbor is nice. Good service. Good food - crab cake is good. Overall, food is on the expensive side. A cup soup costs $11 - the same price at Bar Harbor Inn buys you a bowl. The Aveleda white is pretty good tho. A persistent fly just won't leave us alone. Cross the street is their garden which is really worth your time.Dear Guest, Thank you for taking a moment to leave us a review! I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy this part of the island, but I am glad the gardens made the tip worth it. We are actually located in Northeast Harbor, at the Southeast tip of the island, not the western side. Many folks do prefer the quieter side of the island, so I hope your review will not deter them from venturing over this way. I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the food and the service, as well as the view! Thanks again for taking a moment to leave us a review! Best Regards, Will Matteson General Manager

This is a restaurant located in a small community that has a bakery, bar, and restaurant. The experience was all over the place. The lobster quesadillas were excellent, the baked seafood dish was good. The mussels were terrible with a broth that was bland. The Alfredo with seafood was uneatable the blueberry pie should be skipped. Service is abrupt . If you go be careful what you order, stay away from the specials. I would not return.Hmmm. I am very sorry to hear this. Our blueberry pie has been featured in magazines and weddings all across Maine. You do realize you can always tell our Servers of your dissatisfactions and they would have been more then happy to fix your meal. Oh well!

Best panoramic view of Southwest Harbor, featuring a stunning marina and hand built boats as far as the eye can see. Family owned and operated with a menu to please even your pickiest eaters. Fresh, local seafood, hand cut steaks, delicious salads, homema
The service and seating were slowBut the lobster rolls and other items our group of six had were very good. The view of the harbor was outstanding. If in a hurry, this place is not for you. But if you can take your time and enjoy the view, sitting on the deck with a glass of wine is a pleasure. Chill and enjoy. Thanks for your review...I do need to clarify for others that you arrived as 6 people wanting to sit outside "in the sun" on a full deck. 2 tables had just been emptied, and they needed to be cleared, cleaned, and set then joined together in a tight space for your comfort and enjoyment...sorry it wasn't ready for you in less than 5 minutes! "No good deed goes unpunished", as they say.Our food is prepared as you order it...we are not "fast food"~if you are on vacation, you should be able to enjoy one of the most spectacular views on the Northeast seaboard, and "chill" as you say~if you are in a hurry, we prefer you to go elsewhere; we are much happier here among people who "get it".Thank you for joining us; you are right~we offer pleasure and enjoyment.

Came here on our last night in Maine for dinner with my family of 5. Our server was very nice and answered all questions. The warm bruschetta and the caprese appetizers were delicious. Everyone enjoyed their dinners not one person complained. The chef or someone from the kitchen staff actually comes out and gets herbs right from the garden and you can taste that freshness in their dishes. I normally donât order desert but thought Iâd try the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake and it was well worth every calorie! Great atmosphere and I would definitely recommend

We dined at Red Sky very near the end of the season, taking my sister who hadn't been there in years. The meal was delicious (two ordered crab and lobster cakes and one sole) but the service was best described as leisurely. Almost to the point of "did they forget our order?" Still when the food came it was very well worth the wait. Clean plates went back to the kitchen! Reservations are a must and I suggest made a day in advance. The restaurant is small and wildly popular.

Eat, drink and be messy. A visit to Beal's Lobster Pier is always a highlight - a restaurant that's on the water, with an atmosphere that's down to earth. At our working lobster pier in Southwest Harbor, Maine, you and your family will have a blast watchi
When my husband and I travel, on the last night in an area, we have a âBig Night Outâ. We chose Bealâs based on location and the availability of indoor and outdoor seating. The photos of the pier at night were absolutely picturesque! We arrive to find that customers order food from a counter and are given a number. From there, you go to a pickup window to get your beverages. A server brings the food to your table. Customers have to get their own napkins, cutlery, lobster bibs, etc...No instructions are provided on how to disassemble the lobster. (Thank goodness for the internet). After the meal, customers bus their table. We paid for our meal and added a 20% gratuity upfront. In hindsight, we should have paid for the meal and decided on how much gratuity to put in the tip jar afterwards. The young man that took our order was fabulous. The rest of the staff we came in contact with, were unfriendly and rude. The food was beautiful. The corn on the cob, corn bread and slaw were delicious! The Old Soaker Root Beer was quite tasty! The mussels were cold and the lobster was rubbery. The sausage was bland with a gritty texture. With gratuity we spent just under $100. It was not the experience we expected. What a disappointment.Hi Teresa- Thank you for your comments and feedback from your visit, as we use comments such as yours to improve our training and customer experience. We apologize for the unsatisfactory service you received during your visit. We regret not meeting your expectations as it is our mission for all of our guests to leave happy, satisfied and with the desire to visit us again. We've spoken with your team about your visit. We hope you'll give us another chance an stop in again during your stay on the island or in the future to make it right.
