The Sand Bar & Seafood Co. has been apart of the Leigh Community for 15 years. We're a family run Restaurant with a love of Seafood. Everyday we learn some new, even after all these years, but we always have the ultimate aim of improving ourselves. We are
Sunny Hot Thursday, knew it would not be long before i went back again, Cold San Mig, best seats in the house view of the water..(thats when someone don't park on the double yellow lines and block everything, which happened 3 times whilst we where there), anyway, Mussels and Chips...lovely chunky ones, and the Chips were also big, grilled fish on special, and the Seafood Linguine was a fave, it suits the place and it suited the day, very flavorsome, i said in my first review its on our list of places to eat, and its firmly staying.thank you so much for your generous review - everyday I try to look for a gift and be positive about life, and today your review is my gift - so I am grateful for it. I would like to thank you again and wish you well - take care Louise

Our crusty old Dickensian candle-lit dining rooms with mahogany tables and sawdust covered floors is one of the most atmospheric venues in town. All our food is freshly made by ourselves, we use top quality ingredients from some of the best suppliers in t
met a friend for lunch as a birthday treat. Food looked & smelt amazing but lacked on the taste which was disaapointing. Service was exceptional, price for the food was the same as the drinks £25/£25, so not a cheap afternoon. Ambience and furnishing of this place is quirky. Not for those with mobility issues as its down a flight of stairs. Will return again to see if its back to its great standards rather than mediorce .

You can't beat freshly cooked fish and chips and the seaside is place to get them. After a great day out in Southend - my first visit for 50 years, this was a family meal for dinner on 28/08/19. Found this place along the front, not too far from the old Kursaal. Made us very welcome and looked after us from the moment we set foot in the place. Extensive menu - fantastic cod and chips and burgers were enjoyed by our party, followed by super desserts - the banana split boat thing being the favourite. A real good old fashioned nosh up!! With a pot of tea, of course. And our lovely server, really made a fuss of us the whole time. Thanks for having us - we will be back again soon!!

With its records dating back to 1757, The Peterboat is a pub rich in local history. This, along with the gorgeous panoramic views across the Thames Estuary, has established the venue as the true heart of Old Leigh. Paying homage to our traditional roots a
Stopped for lunch in the Peterboat on the 10th of October, the service and food were excellent. The bar staff were friendly and welcoming and even cracked a few jokes and comments, he was a very friendly like guy.Kellee and Nicky who served us were very friendly and professional, a real asset. I look forward to many more meals in the Peterboat in the future.

At Il Palazzo Westcliff our mission is to provide our customers with the very best in Italian Cuisine. Our chefs combine the freshest vegetables, the highest-quality meat, the most succulent fish and top-grade virgin olive oils to create delicious meals t
Been here a number of times and always had a good meal. This time however it was a disappointment. Instead of going A'la Carte we decided to opt for the Set Menu two courses for £19.95.I had Whitebait and my wife had the mushroom - both good. It was the main course that was not up too the usual standard. We both had the escalope of pork which arrived within 30 seconds of our starters being cleared and I wonder how much fresh cooking was involved. We like vegetables al dente but ours were close to being uncooked. The rest of the meal was acceptable but needed salt and pepper, it lacked seasoning. All together a bit disappointing.Next time we will eat a la carte. As always the staff are friendly and efficient.

following an overnight stay in Southend on Thursday i didnt fancy breakfast at the hotel so after a long walk along the front i stopped at Rebecca,s .Im so glad i did. After a warm welcome I enjoyed one of the best breakfasts i have ever had.The food was cooked fresh using good quality produce. It was served hot and well presented.A small pet hate of mine is when beans are already on the plate, here they were served in a small pot ,happy days. I went for the big breakfast and it lived up to its name. Staff were friendly and the cafe was very clean.I had a chat with the owner who is greek.A lovely man who told me he has had the cafe for many years and its shows in the whole experience.Wouldnt hesitate again if visiting Southend. Thank you and Yammas to you all !!

No trip to the sea side is complete without a customary plate of good old fashioned F&C. Normally you end up having this by the ocean but when we saw the rave reviews for Oldhamâs Fish Restaurant we knew we had to try to out.Itâs about a 8 min drive away from the sea front and there is parking nearby so reasonably convenient. Oldhamâs has a takeaway up front and sit down restaurant behind with waiter service. The restaurant has a higher price tag for the same food but even so it wasnât OTT.Being a nice sunny day we chose to get take away and sit on the few tables outside. They have a lunch time fish n chips special for £4 take away but we were hungry enough to order the Large Cod and large chips combo which was fresh+delicious at £9 for the combo, the staff we friendly and served with a smile. It was easy to see why it was so popular doing brisk business in the middle of the day. Only reason I knocked off a star was the kids fish goujons n chips meal for £2.50 was mostly skin so the kids didnât really go for it. Otherwise would have gladly given 5 stars to this awesome chippy with a Certificate of Excellence 5 years running !
