Now I know why it is his favorite. Two had sandwiches one the chicken sampler and I had the haddock Florentine with squash and broccoli. All were excellent, reasonably priced, and our waitress was bright, friendly and attentive. Oh, did I mention that the homemade pies were very good? The strawberry cream was particularly nice. A winner!

the servings are very generous, the prices average and the fresh haddock is awesome, very big juicy clams. they have a good thing going with the batter he uses, it is so good. lunch specials, you can not dine in it is strickly for take out.

The Weathervane restaurants are no frills but good seafood type of eateries. The prices are very reasonable and the food is always fresh. They used to have salads with your meal but now you have to add it as a side order if you want a salad. But I have never had a bad meal at any of them. Unfortunately, the one in Bedford, which is closer to my house closed awhile back, so now we have to travel to Dover, Chichester or the one in Portsmouth, which is in a really cool setting on the water.

Small, casual restaurant, with friendly service and really good food.My favorite item on the menu : clam chowder.The first test truly great clam chowder must pass : is it thick enough for you to get your spoon to stand up in the middle of the bowl? At Johnson's, the answer is 'yes'!This alone is worth the trip many of us endure, passing thru several towns enroute, to reach this restaurant.
