A really friendly atmosphere with fantastic Hawaiian tunes playing over the radio made for a very warm and welcoming experience when we visited. Our friendly host, who spoke excellent English, suggested we have the Halibut which had been freshly caught that day (he had the photos to prove it). We were really glad we did as it was simply some of the best fish and chips we've ever had! The fish was beautifully battered and crunchy and served with delicious home made chips and a selection of dipping sauces. There was nothing to dislike about this meal! They also have a wide selection of beers including VB and Paulaner, but I went with the locally brewed Pale Ale from Magpie brewery, which was everything a great Pale Ale should be. The price was a bit higher than you might pay for a meal in a more traditional Korean restaurant, but I would say it's worth what you pay for it.There are lots of great places to get Korean food around the port, but if you want some great fish and chips served in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere then Gla Gla Hawaii is an absolute must!

I had the spicy seafood soup, with fish on the bone, prawns, some squid pieces, and abalone in the shell which were still alive - I had to wait for the hot soup to cook them to death!Pretty tasty all round, not the best seafood I've had but still nice. I paid 33,000 won for a pot of soup on a bbq burner, which was supposed to be for 2 people, but I ate 3/4 of it on my own. Next time I would probably bring someone with me.Most of it was fish, I would've liked more prawns and abalone, and the soup overpowered the flavour of the other seafood at times.

Found this place after carefully checking out all the main restaurants on Arang Joeul food street - fantastic Jeju traditional treat! I was the only non-native in the place but everyone was very friendly and seemed to approve my choice of the main specialty, spicy braised hairtail fish and the local soju. Was hungry and ate all of the six dishes of banchan (which were immediately refilled) just before the main dish with a soup and dish of rice arrived. This was a new fish for me no I enjoyed the delicate white meat which slipped right off the bones. Lightly spiced and topped with sliced potatoes and other veggies. Absolutely delicious food and great service.

Tried out this restaurant because of rating, although with hesitation as none of them were in English... For good reason. This restaurant's target audience is Chinese tourists, and the following was conducted all in mandarin. We got to the restaurant a bit before 7:30pm and placed our names down on the wait list. They said it would be a roughly 30 minute wait, but we managed to get a table within 10. We entered, took off our shoes and lead to our table. The menu is only in Korean and Chinese - you typically order the seafood hotpot (size relating to how many are in your party), then you can add extras (assorted fish, abalone). Below that, there's also a standalone abalone dish, 20k for small, 40k for medium. The menu list in the middle column has an assortment of fish or abalone dishes. The column on the right is drinks. We ordered a small (2 person) hot pot and beer.Food came our quite quickly, and indeed it looked very grand. There was a mountain of shellfish, with an octopus squirming on top. The abalone were also doing whatever it is abalone do. Underneath the shellfish, we would find a crab and a large portion of bean shoots. The will cook the food for you and let you know when the food is ready to eat.Overall, the dish was somewhere between average and bad. About 2/3 of the mussels and clams had an overpowering fishy flavour. The abalone was quite bland. The octopus was quite good, as was the crab. When you're done with the seafood, they give you instant noodles and some green veggies to put into the hotpot to finish the soup. The soup itself was very light on flavour in the beginning, and just tasted of salt towards the end. The staff were quite attentive, would make sure that food was being cooked well and that the bowl for your inedible parts were cleared. The overall atmosphere was bustling (mostly with chatter of Chinese dialects), and quite enjoyable. In summary, I wouldn't really be able to recommend this restaurant. There are far tastier restaurants to fill your belly at than this one. Added in the language barrier for non-Korean and non-Mandarin speaking travellers, I'd probably give this joint a miss, folks.

we have a great fish n chips in the world. the best fish is john dory , and Shark(real shark) , maybe you naver taste this kind of fish. also you can take food in our restuarant and to go. thank you
Came on a Friday around 2:00, no customers, ordered Johndory (a local fish) fish and chips and it took over 25 minutes to get our food. Owner speaks English which was a plus. Menu is bare-bones: three types of fish, chips, or shrimp. A few bottled beers and sodas available. Banana shake was good, but again, took 25+ mins to get it. 35,000 won for two orders of fish&chips (14,000 each) plus one banana shake (7,000). Food was decent, but fish a little crispier and oilier than I like. Bench seating only, and 2 seats face the sidewalk so you can people watch. Music selection was repetitive and annoyingâEd Sheehan Pandora station, probably. Every song was Ed Sheeranâs and another artist who sounded just like him. British flag decor. Pretty much all food in surrounding area (Seongsan Ichulban/Sunrise Peak) is seafood/shellfish, so if you donât like shellfish your only options are this or McDonaldâs.

By far the best omakase I've ever had in Korea. Loved the distinctive atomsphere and culinary experience that can not be felt anywhere else in Jeju. Really loved the napkin they give out as souvenir too! :) I will definitely revisit whenever I have the chance to visit Jeju.

Knowing that this place is popular among the locals, we went there for an early dinner about 5pm and we didn't need to queue. The menu only has 4 dishes - porridge, hotstone rice, barbeque abalone and sliced raw abalone. We had the hotstone rice and barbeque abalone. Both tasted great. This is indeed a must eat in Jeju
