While staying in Recoleta, we had relatives take us to El Candado, as they live near the restaurant. Even though they took us home afterwards, we had taken a taxi(160 pesos) to get there, as they work into the early evening. Located in the Martinez/San Isidro area with parking on the streets. It's assisted by a local older gentleman, who was tipped afterwards. Everyone was ordering Italian, so we did also. I had chichen/spinach Ravioli(105 pesos), while my wife had Chicken Risotto with almond/peas(105 pesos). It was completely full, so thank goodness we had reservations. The waiters were hopping all evening. Definitely a local crowd. We shared a flan afterwards. We both enjoyed our meals. If in the area, would definitely return. But wouldn't suggest a trip there from the city, for sole purpose of visiting the restaurant.

Not only is this restaurant quite cheap, but also it has the best dishes. We ate seafood curry at only $75, the plate was full of shrimps, and many other delicious creatures. Althoug the dessert could have been better, i totally recommend it either to eat with friends or family!

This place is next to the "tren de la costa" train station (if you're going to Tigre it's a nice train to go on - a bit more expensive than the regular train but much more relaxing, and it takes you right into the middle of the nice parts of San Isidro and Tigre). Stop off if you get the chance and have a meal or a drink at this bar/restaurant. The food is really good (what I would think of as typical bar food, but with an Argentinian twist) and it's all made fresh - they even do their own bread for the hamburgers. Really reasonable prices, even by Argentinian standards (and crazy cheap if you arrive with dollars/euros). Try the nachos, ribs, or a lamb hamburger - or go all out and get a pizza (they're BIG) and make sure you get a "fernet con cola" to wash it all down, like a local! The staff that we talked to were all fluent in English and had some great tips on what to do around San Isidro too - bonus :)

Not a bad Seafood option in a Northern Buenos Aires suburb. No frills, expect nothing outstanding, and you will be fine. Service and wine list could use some work, and the selection of non-frozen fish could also be better, although that is a common issue in most all restaurants in Buenos Aires.
